Has disc production gotten shittier in the past few years? I’ve been hitting disc read issues on new stuff more often than I ever did before.

I'll probably stick with my NOTLD blu ray because it's really a fantastic looking blu ray. This isn't a situation where I'm upgrading from a half-assed, outdated blu ray.

Part of it is at last count I have at least 10 horror UHDs that I'm considering picking up for this Halloween season so I have to make some tough decisions. Any upgrades of stuff I already own on blu ray are probably not gonna make the cut.

A good mail day for me today. I finally scored a copy of Scream Factory's Robotjox for a fantastic price, that showed up, and completes all of the OOP MGM / Shout Factory titles I needed, plus discs for Hell High and The Aztec Mummy Collection. But my prized acquisition that came today is the Arrow 4k for Tenebrae. Absolutely thrilled to have this, which now makes Argento the director I have the most 4ks for.

Severin just announced a new boxset. House of Psychotic Women: Rarities Collection

In 2012 Kier-La Janisse (the very-good Canadian writer who also did that essential folk-horror documentary Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched) wrote House of Psychotic Women: An Autobiographical Topography of Female Neurosis in Horror and Exploitation Films, a book so important to her and to the genre of horror it has its own section in her Wiki. She got together again with Severin to celebrate its decade anniversary by helping present four restored rare films essential to that subject

Identikit, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Andy Warhol
I Like Bats
Footprints (the US cut and the Italian cut), starring Klaus Kinski
The Other Side of the Underneath, the only British feature in the 70s solo-directed by a woman

Doesn't matter anymore, but the Eureka disc is region free, I've had it for a while. It's one of their weird discs that will throw up a region lock screen, but if you hit the menu button it goes to the menu and will play just fine. Not a weird trick I've tried it in a bunch of players, works every time. I don't know if it's a mistake in the disc authoring on their end or what, but it's been a little while since I've gotten one from them like that and it wasn't like a consistent thing across their releases.

I've only seen Demoniacs recently which I enjoyed. I saw Zombie Lake over a decade ago on some cheap DVD rip but can't remember much about it.

I'd definitely love to dig more into his films though!

Nice! I like those ones a lot personally. Demoniacs is an interesting bridge between sensitive soulful horny Jean and depressed pornographer-by-circumstance Jean. I would highly recommend checking out The Shiver of the Vampires, Fascination and Requiem for a Vampire, if you liked those ones. They’re peak Rollin, to me personally! And I should know - I’m a loving weirdo!

I'm a fan. Those movies world fit in nicely at Arrow... I could see a couple of boxsets coming out from them. I don't think Redemption (label that put out the Rollin Blu-rays) has released anything in quite a while.

Those are the same folks who are cool sitting in the first rows of a theater. For some reason, they've convinced themselves that having to move your head around to follow the action for two hours is immersive or something.

I used to have a list of the row/seat number in different theaters that got you dead center middle row so I'm a total dick about this.

Oh I definitely have the rows memorized for the theaters I frequent of where to sit for what kind of movie and which theater. Auditorium style seating is still much better than modern style right across the row. Traditional auditorium seating at least bends with the stage area of the screen so even when you have a "bad seat" you're oriented the right way.

For Iron Man 3 we ended up sitting in the very front all the way to the right because that’s all that was left. I’d prefer not to repeat that.

My grandma tried to get us to mount a tv right below the ceiling in her small second bedroom. We managed to talk her down into putting it a lot lower. A few days of that and she’d have callled up to complain and would have wanted it moved.

It's loving dope in the multiplexes with reclining seats if you put them back all the way, no lie.

I do. My favorite is probably Living Dead Girl for just how extreme it got. Nude Vampire was good (I think I said earlier in the thread it clearly inspired at least 3 of Hotline Miami's masks), Fascination was okay and I enjoyed Night of the Hunted.

The third isn't a bad movie, it's just the worst of the bunch. I will be honest, it is the slowest of the 3, and despite being the shortest, it feels the longest.
