With Japanese you're learning a set of entirely new characters, but with Russian you're seeing a lot of stuff that looks familiar but is actually something completely different. As a native English speaker, part of your brain is going to always associate Я with R, while nothing in hiragana or katakana caries such a false association. Kanji is a whole other monster of course.

I was going to say exactly this. I can't count the number of times I've confused В for B, п for n, or р for p. There's also н and х and a few others that are also just a completely different sound. And don't even get me started on cursive... It's a lot harder to confuse a そ for a z. I could list a bunch of reasons why Japanese grammar is simple and elegant, but I'll just settle for: at least you don't need to memorize if a table is a boy, girl, or neither. Chinese characters do tremendously suck though. There's a reason the Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, and even the Chinese said, "Maybe we need to make this a bit easier..." But don't let the writing system distract you, the underlying grammar is simple and super regular. Edit: I'm not trying to downplay any difficulties you're facing, I'm just saying there are definitely harder languages out there even just considering the case of English as your base language. Hang in there, and in time, it'll get a lot easier (and fun) for you! Anyway, sorry for the derail. I just really like languages.

Visually impressive, as usual. Some nice gags tossed in there, too. Looks like all of the S class are lined up and witnessed the takedown punch so I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
