In Australia I've seen ads for bananas, avocados, pork, lamb, beef, red meat in general, paid for by the relevant industry group I'm sure there are more commodities that had a widespread advertising campaign that I can't remember

On the topic of local commercials, can anyone who was in south Texas in the late ‘80s or early ‘90s identify the business which had the “SAVES… YOU… MONEY!!!” ads? Might have been a furniture store, with the guy jumping up and waving fistfuls of dollar bills as he cried out the slogan at the end.

There were at least two for this venture, which he may have owned. Nothing else he did was anything close to this yikes, but all of his ads were that slightly wacky overly excited vibe.
