Looks fun and I liked the demo, will probably pick it up despite never having played a mainline Postal game.

Brain Damaged is their attempt at making an actual level-based FPS like Doom et. al, and while I want to say it's hard to mess something like that up, it looks like it's. . . solid, if anything.

yea and hyperstrange is also trying to brand themselves as a new blood of sorts. theyre also making blood west which is currently in early access and I've heard it's solid

and publishing Supplice which... well, it's not as solid (the level design was kinda rough), but it is a build-rear end game

Why is Supplice build-rear end? i thought it was Mechadon and a bunch of other doom folks making a GZDoom game.

he has a weird brain disease that makes him adore most anything related to postal despite most sane people at the very least not publicizing that they play the games a lot

i haven't watched the video and probably won't but from what i understand it's made by different people which means it won't crash every 5 minutes, so that in itself has cleared the bar so low you have to dig underground to reach it

Finished Severed Steel main story, which is 3.1 hours. Game is an absolute treasure, in my opinion.

An odd note is that except when they make you use it there was never much of a reason to use the samus aran plasma cannon. It was more fun, faster, and easier to do the core loop. There is a part where you collect holy artifacts (masterchiefs helmet, a crowbar, and a golden gun(?)) and it powers up the weapon and its still not something I used except in the levels where its mandatory/create the extremely rare shortcut. I bet for speedrunners its got more value, but it felt weird to have a whole set of rules and mechanics for a thing I just didn't use.

It might also have the most accurate and deadly shotgun in an FPS game in ages, the thing has extremely low spread and quick rate of fire and the super version reduces enemies to composite atoms.

Anyway, Barudak approves

Are there a lot of people playing TSE HD nowadays?

Good to know that is what its supposed to be. The thing about doing a knock off an already low poly object is that just making it low poly wont work and its the same fidelity as the original so you have to actually change things.

Did a whole boatload of Severed Steels firefight mode. Yeah, game is good. Game is good.

Severed Steel is my favorite of the recent fps games (is it a boomer shooter? is FEAR one?). That moment when you clear out a level in constant slowmo and Molten Steel comes on: https://floatingdoorr.bandcamp.com/track/molten-steel

I do feel like the original campaign flowed a lot better without the new levels. Some of them (like that 'city' one) feel undercooked.

Ask me about onklunk extraction.
The thing about RWS is that they're basically old-school libertarians so instead of wanting to marry 12 year olds and never pay parking tickets they're just big on 1st amendment and liberty issues, so it's not surprising that their content leans towards being more subversive. They'd also fired an employee for being a transphobe so they're not really people you can just pigeonhole into being MAGA types.

It definitely is the fear slomo taken to the extreme. I appreciate dearly that you can kill and be killed super fast but always in a yeah thats my fault way.

I think the only real stinker levels are the boss fight and the destroy this house levels, which is interesting because in the firefight mode they're great.

I used the arm cannon constantly, mostly for creating shortcuts but occasionally against groups of enemies.

And yeah the shotgun loving owns.
