Because it's a PC game you can find deals immediately, I preordered from GMG for $50. Normally don't preorder but we know what this game is and I had to preorder for the discount so meh.

Edit: Talking about the spiderman game and obviously not this rittenhouse trash

So this game popped up yesterday on my Steam queue and it's free so I gave it a try:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2071530/HalfEarth_Socialism/

It's a game about saving humanity and the world from climate change ala Fate of the World. It's not as well polished and buggy (often in subtle way, for example, when you deploy BECC technology, it can provide energy at negative emission, great right? Except it'll immediately bug out the game so the world temperature no longer decrease), and the "simulation" and research is probably looser than Fate. Though it is quite a bit faster to play as there are only 30 turns to the game instead of I think 40 in Fate, and each turn has less decisions. A pretty big difference between this game and Fate is that through the power of socialism, you are no longer constraint by money. In fact, progress toward emission, temperature, and biodiversity loss reduction directly increase your political capital. Though this also limits play style where development seems strictly bad as it doesn't increase your resources while greatly increase resource consumption. It's also not as cynical as Fate, I think. You can slow development in the global south, but there's nothing like literally deploying bioweapon to kill everyone.

Saints Row has long overstayed its welcome. The remasters are bad, the highpoint of the series long been reached with the originals and all I wonder is if anyone who was involved in Freespace is actually still working at todays Volition since it's the only game I want to see resurrected

Tenochtitlan, looking east.
Played a bit of Severed Steel and it feels like this might be the worst I've ever been at a game. I think I'm letting the stuff I've read about this game impact my play cause I keep trying to do too much and failing miserably when I should probably just slow down and be more methodical. I'm just a slow/cautious player by nature and this game pushes you to be the opposite but not so much that I have to rush suicidally into every room. Think I need to find the in-between here where I can feel more comfortable rather than try to chain stunts together which I am supremely bad at. Bumped the difficulty down but I still feel like I'm probably going to be struggling through the campaign.

You know I just started playing a bit of that myself and I have to agree. I know I'm just bad at the game, and there are certainly moments where you pull off some insane parkour flip kill and you're like "drat wait, I just did what," but trying to manage everything that game has going on is just a lot for my pea brain.

It's pretty and the music is good though. I saw an enemy around a corner with the RTX reflections on. It was pretty cool.

You're invincible when you're doing stunts. You also have infinite slowmotion when you're doing stunts.
Wall running is a continuous stunt that can be sustained infinitely, as long as you have geometry available for it, at it leaves all the other options available for you. It should be your default go-to thing.
Sliding is also pretty safe as it still let's you stand up and do your other options but with a drawback that it only keeps you in stunt mode for a limited duration.
On the other hand the dive will leave you vulnerable at the end of it and there's no way to compensate for it, it's the riskiest option you've got.

Just start with focusing on wallrunning and then integrate move moves into your gameplay from there.
Once you figure out the mechanics, the game is actually pretty easy on any difficulty except the hardest one.

Awesome!

Wow, its a total poo poo show.

Loved SR 1-4 and even Gat out of Hell, they have their own charm.
SR2 though it def still the best.

Now if it were made for me, SR5 or whatever this one is, would be them waking up from a time travel party of all parties, and Stillwater/Steelport is completely hosed up and in different time phases, which you have to sort out and put into the correct time.

More than anything else, the thing that SR2 did that is sorely missing from most crime games is having a true zero to hero story and gameplay progression. It's a ton of fun and I really wish more crime games would go back to that idea of slowly building an empire from nothing.

The reboot just seems weird and really doesn't feel like Saints Row in any sense. Maybe it'll turn out great, but I have serious doubts.

lmao i just finished the game having gotten negative emissions and literally reversing global warming with 80/40 global contentedness including space colonies and the game said "but the world can still be salvaged" just because I still used fossil fuels

I thought 3 was OK but not near as good as 2, and 4 was pretty good but the powers made stuff like the cars completely useless (not a huge issue because superman powers). Didn't get gat out of hell cause it looked meh and agents of mayhem looked awful.

3 has some of the best set pieces in that kind of game, mostly thanks to the amazing use of music. I think it was definitely worse than 2 and less fun than 4, but it was still a good time.
