So am I understanding this right, and what happened was:

1) Jones' attorneys send over crimes.xlsx accidentally

2) Plaintiff's attorneys ask them wtf dude, anything you'd like to clarify about this?

3) Jones' attorneys ignore having done so entirely, presumably hoping it'll just go away

?

Yes, that is a correct understanding of what happened

Either 3) or just "too disorganized to see and respond to 2)" but as a layman I'm not sure there would be any substantive difference there?

For 3 it may have been more there’s stuff in there they themselves should have disclosed in discovery and/or there’s illegal poo poo in here not in scope of their representation they didn’t want to touch either way once the cat was out of the bag.

Yeah, he had the ability to keep the prosecution from using it even though he emailed it to them and just didn't.

The irony being that Thiel and Musk were originally business partners and amassed their respective fortunes (well, part of them, anyway) by creating PayPal together and then selling it. They both decided to become right wing culture war fighting assholes, only Thiel decided to do it from the shadows like a creep while Musk did it out in public because he's an idiot.

Current rampant speculation about the Jones trial, when I left for a cross-state drive, was what exactly the context was when the plaintiff's attorney said something to the effect of, "Yeah, full medical records too" on a hot-mic on the way out of the court. Could be nothing, could be bad, could be really bad, nobody knows!

I would not be surprised in Musk or the MyPillow guy just pays up Jones' fine, "in the service of free speech".

I'm surprised there isn't a crowdfunding effort going even now.

The DNC was planning on naming the preliminary new schedule for the 2024 primaries today and finalize it with a vote this weekend, but has delayed making a final decision until the end of November or early December.

Several states (notably Iowa and Nevada) worried that if they announced that they were losing their primary spot before the midterms, then it could turn voters in the states against them in Senate races. They agreed to delay the decision until after the midterms.

Also, Republicans in Michigan and Minnesota are needed to move the primary dates for the states and they still haven't agreed or refused to do so yet. The delegations from Michigan and Minnesota asked for more time to reach an agreement so they wouldn't be disqualified.

It's not outside the realm of possibility. Thiel spent literally millions of dollars bankrolling a veritable cruise ship's worth of people who tried suing Gawker out of existence at his behest before he finally found someone with a strong enough case for a killshot on it in the form of Hulk Hogan. All out of petty revenge.

Then again, Musk and Lindell are also kind of bleeding money and subject to legal liabilities themselves at the moment/in the near future, so they might not have the cash left to bail Jones out either in relatively short order.

that's strange since everything i heard on political twitter is that nevada was the favorite for first in the nation since its diverse, urban and easy to campaign in since its really just a city-state with a lot of hinterland

Its also nice and warm in the winter which helps with canvassing and getting out voters, unlike Midwestern tundra in Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois...

Does anyone know what the exact cost-cutting measures of the Schumer-Manchin bill would be? I've been looking around trying to find them, but the focus is on how it lowers the deficit via raised revenue, not through cuts, even though I've seen cuts mentioned.

The only "cuts" are the elimination of a Medicare prescription drug rebate program that paid back pharmaceutical companies.

It raises more money than it spends and that is how it reduces the deficit. There's no direct spending cuts in the bill.

From what i understand, it was a sharing accident with a dropbox, and lawyers, especially the kind that you get after you've fired like 10 others, are not very proficient in any kind of cloud storage.
