I like that story but it's like Junji just said "gently caress it" after the end of act 2. It really feels like there should have been one last leg of the story where we deal with the mother and her deteriorating mental state and the remaining daughter coming to terms with the fact that she basically killed her sister (or worse).

My biggest criticism of his work is abrupt/ disappointing/ just plain bad endings.

The comic is dungeon warden. It got posted in the comics thread maybe 10 years or so ago. I don't think the comic is still online for reading. It has some intensely repostable pages like the iconic one you quoted. It is basically 'the author's fetish: the comic' which hey, party on. Basically all the characters are human women turned into anthros by magic and they party up to fight monsters to break the spell. Lots of em don't make it. Horese was a double crosser but tries to redeem herself by saving the other characters from the eye monster.

drat tried to Google image search some powerful pages I remember but they might not exist online anymore. Dungeon legacy is his later work and if you poke around his facebook/website maybe you could find it but I'm not gonna. His newer work is very bland and unremarkable. Wouldn't even mark it.

I always feel like writing has never been Itos strong suit. Like so many of his stories kind of need someone to act like a total dipshit at some point.

Either someone goes OCD crazy or someone or a whole crowd of people decides that the monumenally stupid/immoral decision is the correct course of action.

And yeah he never really know how to end anything. Uzumaki was great for the most part and yeah it has the biggest ah gently caress it ending

I had an anthology of his work and there were little notes between the chapters. His whole plotting process is like "I saw a thing, what if it was freaky?" Like he saw a tall model on a magazine cover so he wrote a story about a tall weird looking woman etc. I still love his stuff though. I think this is why his cat manga is probably his best work since it's just autobiographical.

It's a beautiful multiversal "Mankind will literally become god and reinvent the universe instead of going to therapy." The idea that with all of infinite possibility as her playground, she was never once honest with Yukari is both appalling and totally obvious in retrospect. If she had, Yukari would have told her to cut this poo poo out a million universes ago.

EDIT: It reminds me of a swerve in the Eniale and Dewiela manga: A gifted priest condemns his soul to hell so he can spend eternity with a beautiful assassin he loved. He arrives in hell to discover that she was never that into him. He should have asked first.

I'm pretty sure that the fill for Yukari's hair is the moiré patterns produced by Penrose tiling (which has the specific property of being able to cover an infinite plane without ever repeating itself).
