Did he think he could do a show like Springsteen or something or was it just regular band shows?

The Panda Bear and Sonic Boom album is out today and I'm liking it a lot, it's got a nice laid back stretch of songs in the middle.

I believe that the Broadway run was supposed to be the band performing one of each of their seasonal EPs in full followed by a set of "deep cuts." According to guitarist Brian Bell's Instagram, they were preparing these songs for the deep cuts portion:

Their Broadway shows were hilariously overpriced and the Spring and Summer EPs weren't all that exciting, but I have to admit that it would have been cool to witness a good handful of those deep cut songs performed live.

Deep cuts? That looks like they got "Susanne" on the board and then someone said "we're gonna get murdered if we don't play Buddy Holly", so they relaxed the criteria for "deep cuts" a lot.

Tidal algorithm gave me this song in a mix a few months ago and I'm still listening to it:

Another album that turned 20 years old today: Bright Eyes' Lifted... :corsair:

I bought this album on CD in 2005. It was the third Bright Eyes album I got into after I'm Wide Awake and Digital Ash.

Just started listening based on this recommendation. My first impression is that it sounds as though Sylvan Esso wanted to make a Low album, and looking up the album I see that the members of Sylvan Esso have been married since shortly after their first album.

I'm definitely digging the new Sylvan Esso more than usual. Usually I want to like them more than I actually do for a whole album. There's some pretty weird stuff on there, in a good way.

Their live album is incredible but ya I think this might be their best full real album. Super weird and experimental. Good stuff.

I'd missed that she had a new album out until I saw her Tiny Desk concert, and I agree — the album is a lot of fun. It sent me back to revisit a lot of her back catalogue, too, which still holds up pretty well I reckon.

Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

Soviet Kitsch is still one of the best front-to-back albums ever made. I like her newer stuff as well.

This and Yeasayer remind of when I discovered both WFUV and WFMU while working as a van driver delivering refrigeration parts at the company my dad was controller for. Summer of 2012.

I got fired after a month. 5 accidents. Commercial license was somehow not necessary and the company got sued for it (said business has since gone under).

We've already seen a dead horse
A couple of weeks back while buying coffee in a supermarket in Mikkeli I found one brand which had a ‘roasted to’ note - ‘Viagra Boys - Worms’.

https://youtu.be/WQQMJBNS42g

Turns out Viagra Boys are pretty cool, sometimes there’s a sort of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion/Beck/Devo vibe. But also there isn’t.

https://youtu.be/QEfDazTZSPQ

https://youtu.be/XwKFlVtZ86E

https://youtu.be/mP2eZdcdQxA

And that’s how I found a new favourite band thanks to a bag of coffee!
