That looks like the build an actual super heavyweight fighter would have when he doesn't need to cut down for the weight check.

I had the chance to watch the new Hammer & Bolter episode and it was pretty drat good:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/10/this-weeks-hammer-bolter-shows-that-monsters-are-very-real-in-the-mortal-realms/

The animation is still choppy but way better than at the beginning. The best thing was the story, not many times do we get the point of view of the "evil" faction and how they look at the "good" side, and well, they see monsters too.

It kind of seems like there is a long lead time between the reveals and the actual pre order and the actual get it in your hands time.

Cooked Auto
Aug 4, 2007

It can vary, especially considering when the elves they announced during the LOTR game last weekend is up for pre-order this weekend.
But in many cases there's a bit of a lead time, and only further exasperated by ongoing global issues.

Edit:

In other, semi-related, news, the Arcane Cataclysm box most likely goes up for pre-order this weekend, or the next one at best going by the rules previews of the new units in them suddenly cropping up on the WarCom site.

So the warscroll for the Savage Big Stabbas says "unit size: 2", but each base has two Orruks on it. So does that mean that each unit is two bases or two Orruks (i.e one base)?

each unit is two bases, when it comes to unit size one base always equals one model

sometimes models will count as multiple models in other contexts but never when it comes to unit size

The game never actually cares about the number of models. It just cares about the number of bases.

Also as I suspected the Arcane Cataclysm box goes up for pre-order next weekend as well.
Very busy AoS weekend otherwise, with stand alone releases from previous boxes, terrain pieces, Centaurion Marshal
and Legionnaires for Warcry and the compendium for the same game.

Also if you're looking for FOMO models, look no further than the new WH+ subscription model for AoS:

There are some examples going around with people with already finished models. You're supposed to get an email and then make the order.

Seen a couple go up for sale, mostly the Vindicare. And going for hilariously exaggerated prices too for that part.

If you paid annually then I think you were eligible for the model starting at the end of July, but GW did a hilariously bad job of instructing subscribers on what to do to get the model.

I assumed that they would just send me an email to tell me it's time to confirm my address or something, but instead you have to proactively go to the gw store site, search for the wh+ model you want, and then add it to your cart and check out. It will show up as a $0.00 item if you are eligible, and if not it will tell you the date when you're able to place the order.

Why are nighthaunt models so cheap? I went to order something for a friend because she had a great time painting ghosts the other day, and it was surprising to see these prices out of games workshop. Do nighthaunt armies require a huge model count?

Nighthaunt (and Stormcast) were available through this intro subscription thing and were the 2e starter set as well. There’s just a ton of stock.

Nurgle, meanwhile, gets a conditional battleline unit that can shoot people.

I just found out that there’s a midsize AoS community in my city. I stopped playing WFB after End Times and have a bunch of Empire, HE, DE and WE miniatures laying around.

Could I start playing AoS using those models as Cities of Sigmar units? I know there’s gonna be stuff for CoS later on but I wanted to know if it’s worth it to try using my current models right now
