I'd trust psychotherapy more if most of its practitioners weren't so eager to pathologize concern for the state of the world. The number of things under your direct control is already overblown in their liberal framework and will only dwindle more as the wheels come off Western society in the next 1-3 decades.

People with traumatic injuries will go into shock and panic and even if a third of their brain is still intact they might still react violently to whatever situations they are in. They may try to run away, even if their legs are paralyzed. Look up "fight or flight reaction" and "shock" and "trauma." It's deeply upsetting but it's not unexpected!

I've actually never had a trauma patient have an adrenal reaction of that sort.* It was probably because she was in a loving body bag *Very expected for post-ictal state after seizure, especially at onset. Can also happen with narcan. Twoday is I guess not wrong that it can happen but I wouldn't call it (or insinuate it is) a common trauma response. "Will go" is absolutely too strong as neither shock nor panic are guaranteed outcomes. Panic is not really expected at all considering medical responders would arrive at best 5 minutes later.

yeah that looked crazy. the whole thing seemed surreal. so many trucks and so few people. they blocked the whole area off with giant trucks. casually walking her to ambulance. she wakes up and they casually push her into back. so weird.

That's the least weird part, imo. If a patient is freaking out it's pretty typical to do whatever necessary to restrain them, get them in the ambulance, and to a hospital. Otherwise they are likely to become a danger to themselves and others by falling, running into a road, striking someone, etc. Pushing them back down is very normal even if it looks rough. The weird part is the drat body bag

What's a "burn wrapping"? You wrap effected areas of the body, you don't cover the whole body, and the head! Obviously you wouldn't want to wrap the entire body as it would trap the heat and increase the burning - add covering the head and your patient would be suffocating. They're not even hooked up to oxygen. It's a body bag, you can see it unzip.

I'm not an expert but had heard it's practice for fiery crashes with potential burns like that to keep them as isolated from the outside air and such as possible until they are in a sterile environment. I don't know why she'd be removed in a body bag, she was still alive. But I guess that's part of the weirdness?

You treat a burn like any wound. The only thing that changes is your wrappings will stick to the burn so you need to prevent that. If the entire body was a wound then you would basically mummy wrap them, you wouldn't use a loose cover. There's no burns on her back in the video so the wounds were not head-to-toe.

The reason they don't talk about Helen Keller after primary school is that she was a huge socialist and critical of American imperialism.
