Why is it a bad idea to put the eggs in first in that video?

Also that chicken video, even before they cut into them… the imagery of the cock and the other chickens surrounding it, with their heads on is nightmare fuel for me.

That plate of British food people are still talking about isn't stew, it's mince and tatties (which maybe only exists in Scotland?) Ground beef, onion, carrot, and beef broth and/or gravy granules with boiled or mashed potatoes. It's just something cheap and easy that people are probably subjected to a lot as kids and develop nostalgia for.

It exists in Ireland too. Growing up poor it was one of those cheap end-of-the-month meals my mum made. The potatoes and meat are prepped and served separately but you mash that poo poo together on the plate.

Stew here is more involved, using higher quality cuts of meat (usually lamb) and is a much longer cooking process with it being slow-cooked for hours and often not eaten until the next day when the meat is really tender and the carrots/turnip have had a chance to really break down and infuse sweetness throughout.

In short, they would overcook. If you were going to do this correctly you would start with the (much smaller) sausage patty, then the bacon and finally finish with the egg.

But for some reason from the .en article, yeah, none of the other language versions are displayed, which is weird as gently caress.

Corn oil isn't that common in Denmark, that must be a very local thing.

I'm pretty sure the most common are rapeseed, sunflower seed and grapeseed, in that order.

E: and olive oil has been on a steady rise over the last couple of decades.

But if you start with a smaller sausage patty, how do you get that beautiful rare ground meat interior that was handled with your bare hands that you didn't wash on camera at least

Is American sausage meat the same as mince meat? Or does it have other stuff in it besides meat? Is the texture different?

American breakfast sausage is ground pork with various herbs and spices added, most prominently sage but also usually stuff like thyme, black pepper, rosemary, or paprika. It's a very distinctive flavor which personally I'm not the biggest fan of but no, it's not just ground pork.

Sausage can either be a form factor or a mince type in the US. Like there are chicken or beef links and hot dogs that people refer to as sausages, but if you get a sausage patty or crumbled sausage in something then it's probably going to be the aforementioned seasoned pork mince. Those are usually further described as like Italian sausage or hot sausage to tell you the seasonings, but it's rarely non-pork.
