If it's any consolation I don't think anyone is anywhere near a viable brain computer interface other than for like, fairly crude nerve stimulation or reading coarse inputs for a prosthetic. So anyone speculating what it's going to be like is a bit ahead of themselves.

Something about the High Energy theme he had in the mid-90s that sticks with me more. But of course we all know the best wrestling theme song is either Grand Sword (Kenta Kobashi) or All American Boys (Fabulous Rogueaus)

It’s unlikely to lead to the sort of extremes most of us would want but gently caress, I’ll take what I can get. For me, seems like the best thing to unite behind for the moment. I’d love a proper revolutionary movement but that takes decades of building that haven’t in any way happened and we don’t exactly have time to waste. In short, good poo poo. I’ll be at the Manchester launch, and for me the role of good extremists like ourselves should be to drag movements like eie to the left.

My portable aircon has broken but that’s ok because my fixed tariff ends this month and I’ll no longer be able to afford to run the fucker. Plus now I can burn it in winter for warmth, and an interesting buzz from the plastic fumes.

Jaeluni Asjil posted:https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/ofgem-director-resigns-energy-price-cap-b2147195.html Trying to understand how the retail price cap calculations work is a nightmare. Backwardation costs in particular are a massive headache. As far as I understand it, back when Ofgem first designed the price cap, they decided that they wanted to smooth out the variations between the cost of supply of energy in the summer and in the winter. So they decided to set the price cap based on an average of the next 12 months' prices. Suppliers, on the other hand, have to procure energy for delivery at the time when it's going to be used. This means that, in normal times, suppliers would be allowed to slightly over-recover on their energy costs in summer, and would be forced to slightly under-recover on their energy costs in winter. If you've got a fairly stable energy price - as we did until this time last year - and a fairly stable number of customers on standard variable tariffs, then it all works out in the wash. Where this blows up in Ofgem's face is a situation where standard variable tariffs, instead of being the relatively expensive default option, become the cheapest on the market because the price cap is outturning well below the cost of taking on additional customers on fixed-term supply, especially in the case where prices are falling in future seasons. In this case, the surprise SVT customers cause the supplier to have to buy expensive energy now and under-recover on their costs, but don't have an opportunity to make this difference up later. This led to a rules patch being made by Ofgem to allow recovery of these costs as an addition to the cap over the 12 months following delivery. It seems that Ofgem think that the fixed price market is probably going to open up again before those 12 months are out, so they're putting them into a narrower time frame. I think that this means that if you stay on standard variable for the next 12 months, you'd end up paying the same amount, but it'll cost more if you're on SVT over the winter and then move onto a fixed price tariff in March 2023 or so as you won't be able to avoid the backwardation costs that'd have gone into the price cap calculation between April and September.

Adrian Chiles columns have always been confusingly , but he's really reached a nadir here I think. https://twitter.com/guardian/status/1560182629730746368?t=DsNssXNGirD0AkOIC2IfCQ&s=19 A total of two paragraphs, a confusing tale told like someone with a traumatic brain injury recounting their car accident.
