That's a paddlin'

I was looking up something totally unrelated and I accidentally looked at a list of the Bears coaching history and saw the OC's. Big mistake because now I feel like poo poo and my day is ruined. Here it is for your viewing pleasure

2020-2021: Bill Lazor
2018-2019: Mark Helfrich
2016-2017: Dowell Loggains
2015: Adam Gase
2013-2014: Aaron Kromer
2012: Mike Tice
2010-2011: Mike Martz
2005-2009: Ron Turner
2004: Terry Shea

They wasted Luanne on Lucky!

She could of have been so much more but the writers just didn't care!
It explains alot when you look at that list of OC's and the players that Chicago has put on the field at QB.

He apparently stuffed JT on a goal line stand.

And Austin Bryant of all people had 3 sacks and was drawing doubles towards the end.

Helfrich and Lazor probably shouldn't count since Nagy called the plays. There were brief stretches where Lazor called plays and the offense looked semi-competent and then it went back to Nagy.

Eberflus said the short turnaround between games means the starters might only get 6 snaps tonight, which is kind of disappointing. Still, two full possessions for the offense isn't bad

The Bears offense is consistently so innovative and high flying that their OC's always get poached by other teams with head coaching vacancies after a single year on the job, I have to assume

Tice was a really great O-line coach. He quit coaching because he was being a big baby about "modern" players.

My big takeaway so far is the Bears offense looks like an actual offense, which I am not used to. I also appreciate that I don't think I've seen any presnap penalties so far.

Feels like he was born 40 too years late. Imagine him just smoking under the bleachers after the game while a bunch of drunk steelworkers fight it out above him. He looks like he would be in his element playing in an era where having a drink before the game was considered medicinal

This was a better game from Love. I'd say that he looked like a 2/10 last preseason, a 3/10 in the Chiefs game, a 4/10 last week, and something like a 5 or 6/10 today.

Sure would be nice to see him look like a potential NFL starter, but at least he's improving and might be a bit more competitive in spot starts this season if Rodgers gets injured or COVID.

edit: minicamp darling Tyler Davis is not making this roster, jesus christ

Davis wasn't making it through roster cuts anyway. It looks like Toure and Winfree will be our 7th and 8th receivers.

We're gonna carry eight receivers? I don't buy it; we only kept six last year.

Stone-cold locks (3): Allen Lazard, Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs
Almost certainly (3): Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, Amari Rodgers
Possibilities (3): Juwann Winfree, Samori Toure, Travis Fulgham

I bet we keep seven this year and that either Winfree or Fulgham get the seventh slot, while I think they try to stash Toure on the practice squad if they can.
