The red japanese text says English French toast. The white japanese text says German Style. The Chineese only says "best before", I think. Spanish american pizza english french toast, german style. Made in china.

OwlFancier posted:Yes. It is pretty good I was just dumbstruck that I didn't think of it first. Hang on, was it the Galtee smooth-type or the Rudds grainy? Either would work, I suppose, but I personally favour the Rudds grainy style of pudding. Actually a thin layer each of white and black pudding, topped with a fried egg would be amazing. drat, I wish I had some good grainy white pudding now. It's so good

Not sure, I think it was just a little undercooked honestly, hot but like, not crumbly like it should be, more paste-like. It was a bought breakfast so I dunno what they used but probably the cheapest option.

I'd like to try black pudding with a breakfast sometime. I have no idea where it would even fall on the love/hate spectrum, it's a food I literally have no concept in mind for what it might taste like.

Sounds like the smooth paste type stuff. I don't think it can ever really be undercooked, it's safe to eat cold out of the tube, even if it is gross. My father will happily eat pasty black pudding heated in the microwave

Have you ever had lamb's liver? That sort of strong metallic flavour is there. Actually, I suppose pate might be about the closest thing I can suggest, but mix in some black pepper. Texture wise it's again hard to describe but perhaps... very finely ground meat, if you've ever had potted beef or again, pate (pat-ayy, can't do the diacratic) it's a bit like that but then fried, so it crumbles apart, almost like a very hard cheese but made of meat. A very rich, very savoury flavour, bit peppery, and it has bits of cereal grain mixed in too, but they are soft, the precise texture depends how it's cooked but I think it's best when it's fairly crumbly but not too dry. The best stuff I think is stornoway black pudding I had in scotland, which is slightly fibrous and feels like eating black pudding flavoured pulled pork. Dip in the yolk of your fried egg. Heaven.

It's kinda like more savory less herby breakfast sausage, it's good. I like the stuff that still has the oats or whatever cereals they use as distinct bits, gives it a nicer texture than the paste stuff. It's no longer banned, but is insanely expensive in the states, I had a hankering for a Full English awhile back and paid like $20 all in for a 1lb log of it, which is insane for what is essentially bread soaked in a waste product of the butchery process.
