all my friends were into the happymadison garbage and i heard in advance what punch drunk love was like so i lied to them all and hyped it up, getting us to go together in a big group. not sure they ever forgave me. it's a great movie

How do you see a trailer for a crime drama starring Adam Sandler and Idina Menzel and come to the conclusion that you shouldn't watch it? Punch Drunk Love is really amazing though.

As an example, I will never watch John Wick. However, Uncut Gems is a great movie and lives up to the hype. It's never boring and Sandler is great in it.

This The Odinkirk was also directed by him iirc and it was solid as well. They’re just fun films to watch.

The action choreography becomes more bland like you're watching Keanu go through a 3-gun stage, and by the third one it feels like an advertisement for Taran Tactical. You also get to see how the director's fetish for tattooed rockabilly chicks becomes more obvious as the series goes on.

I dunno, Zoolander 2 wasn’t very good but there were some touches there that were very much in the vein of the original (Derek not understanding how spaghetti works). It’s not a good movie but I think people were unnecessarily harsh to it.
