Passing tractor-trailers on my Ninja 250 was a frightening experience, I can only imagine the kind of winds that are smacking this around. It's always been my experience that the faster you go, the smaller and more vulnerable you feel. You couldn't pay me to ride a scooter at highway speeds.

Speed limiters are fun. A guy with a mobility scooter disabled the speed limiter and could get up to like 20 mph, only about 4x as fast as they are meant to go. Unfortunately whatever he did made the breaks not work good and he crashed into the apartment building a couple times.

My bike can theoretically do 26 mph but the limiter keeps it at 20 and even that feels like a bit much.

let your pets kill and eat grasshoppers, i know it seems cruel but grasshoppers are a pest whose population should be controlled, especially considering the bizarre "locust" phenomenon. grasshoppers produce a kind of chemical that, if, in sufficient crowding, causes the grasshoppers to undergo a biological process that allows them to grow larger, faster and lay more eggs. it's a literal biblical plague ffs!

I was driving across northern Nevada/southern Oregon a few weeks ago and the swarms of Mormon crickets were so thick we had difficulty keeping the car pointed straight, it was like driving on ice. iirc the name comes from the early Mormon settlers in Utah almost getting their first crops wiped out by the things. A big rear end flock of birds saved them one year if I'm remembering it right.
