He’s among one of the most influential comics (and probably the comedian whose voice was most copied by other less talented comics) and HOLY poo poo seeing his handsome face isn’t half as weird as hearing his voice completely devoid of growl or gravel. Dave pre-alcohol & cigarettes is almost a completely different person. If not for the exact same cadence of delivery I’d be skeptical it was Dave at all. The only other comic I can think of who changes this later in life is maybe Louis CK.

Just coming in to agree on the new Neal Brennan Netflix special. Brilliant stuff that would not have landed so well if he wasn't so confident and committed as a performer. It felt like Louis CK at his best, without any of his pervy, creepy undertones, and Chappelle at his best, without punching down or being unnecessarily antagonistic.

Absolutely butchering his take on it, but from memory of past podcasts he more or less laughs at the idea of being cancelled. A mixture of "I'd take the exposure" and the fact that he kinda can't really be cancelled. He's essentially got enough of a following to be able to do his thing at his level of club for as long as he wants. It's not like he's going to get some Netflix series that they could subsequently take away from him. FOX attempting to make a deal of a bit from 20 years ago would be loving hilarious if only for seeing a newscaster explain that Doug joked that the organization was called "Pigs in Blankets." He's been tweeting at Statefarm a lot recently - seems the insurance process is as annoying as you'd expect.
