There's loving nothing for Mox to do now with Punk still top face, unless Mox turns heel, which would be loving stupid. Let's see. Jericho? Did it already, and now Bryan is feuding with him. JAS in general? Done to death. BCC feuding with Stoke's boys? That basically just makes the BCC seconds for Punk, which...loving spare me. Mox going back after the title? Not happening for the foreseeable future because now we get the Circlejerk-off Pipebomb Olympics Pt. 2 with Punk and MJF. Tag titles? Nope. That's for The Acclaimed, as it should be. Trios titles? IDK, maybe, I guess. Mox gets attacked by The Factory during a backstage promo. He murders them all for a while until it's time to put him back in the main event.

I think this summer opened up a lot of people's eyes on Moxley. His first few years and reign were kind of meh, but this last reign is probably the best world title reign in AEW so far, he's really found his character with all of the BCC violence loving weirdo stuff. I would be surprised if he just floated down to the midcard and wallowed around on Dark.

I've come to realize a few things. 1) I know why I didn't think MJF would be the Joker. Given how he left I thought his comeback would not be in a match. It would be strange to have him just come out and wrestle after all that. I was both right and wrong. In that regard it was an excellent ending to the match. Of course it made everybody else look like woodshop shavings to be swept away by a tide of Stokely Hathaways and his army of idiots but you gotta break a few eggs to have one big moment or something. 2) I wasn't 100% sold on Luchasaurus doing the double-swerve and I realize it's because I thought there was a small chance the story would be that Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus would become increasing unhinged in their pursuit of Cage resulting in a double turn. 3) Powerhouse Hobbs wrestles like he's doing Iso tag. It's worse because there's no hot tag at the end. Turtles gently caress faster than Hobbs does offense. His singles matches are either squashes or endless heat segments with no resolution. Watching him ground Dante Martin for approximately 6 million years combined in their 2 matches was goddamn painful. Watching him do it to Starks was worse because this was supposed to be a big night for both of them. 4) The Acclaimed had the match of the night and I don't know how to deal with that. Where do they go from here? They're not winning the tag titles before FTR and who the hell knows when they're winning it. Who is even the heel tag team FTR wins it from? It has to be a heel team right? Is SioG gonna turn or is LFI or MCM winning it? 5) On one hand; watching the Elite win the titles custom made for them in the tournament that revolved around them for the division that Tony held up until they were healthy is kinda lame even as somebody who loves those guys. On the other hand; for the first time Tony actually booked a tournament well enough that the obvious winner wasn't obvious. Gods help me I thought Silver was gonna pin Kenny with that OWA reversal. I thought Don Callis could screw Kenny over in favor of Will Ospreay. I thought the story might be Kenny came back too early, they lose to LFI and Hangman feels guilty for shooting them down. So good job there. 6) There is nothing wrong with Toni Storm but she is a 3.5 star wrestler in a pool that's 4*s deep on the shallow end. 7) It would appear Jon Moxley was never supposed to be in the title picture. Two weeks ago was a thanks, a validation for holding down the fort, and a pop for the hometown fans. tonight was the re-establishment of the gameplan. This sounds dismissive of Mox's place in the company but we're talking about somebody who just got cleanly pinned in a singles match for the first time in almost 3 years with the company. He's fine. 8) Until Jade loses I will be forced to interpret the TBS title as a vanity title that was minted specifically for her. It's just been her and a conga line of victims with no end in sight. Also she needs to learn to not talk over her drat opponents. Every face in the company has enough trouble getting over on the stick as it is. There's heaps of cool poo poo for Mox to do. Him vs Hangman is still very conspicuously on the table, but you could also put him against Miro or LFI along with the BCC. There's also the hanging thread of how he's the guy stuck between friends who hate each other. It'd be interesting to see him have to choose between Eddie and his stablemates if it ever came down to it. Imagine Mox/Eddie vs Bryan/Claudio

Niwrad posted:Why would they be mad about that question? Their whole goal out there was to go out and elevate the Acclaimed from a midcard act people like to cheer for cause they do fun raps and do fun scissor things to legitimate stars at the top of the tag team division who can move business in a real way. Asking if they should have called an audible comes with like, some kind of inherent assumption that they weren't accounting for the reaction they got, or that this wasn't their goal from the beginning. Asking if they should've done an audible is just really weirdly disrespectful and dismissive of their work and their future plans for the sake of instant gratification. People are saying "well if the Acclaimed had won, it would've gotten a big pop". Like, no poo poo it would've, that's the point, that's what they were going for.

If the reports about MJF being unhappy in AEW are real it’s very funny to me considering the guy barely works, when he does it’s in a very high profile feud, and he just got a title shot after being away for months without even stepping foot in the ring for the match in which all the other guys tried to kill themselves and each other with ladder spots.

I was there live and just felt like something was off all night. Like I can't even put into words why, I just wasn't feeling this show as much as last years. Also as someone that was in the United Center and had the time of my life when Punk returned I feel like I've been less and less into him as the year has gone on. I'm not even a Moxley guy and I was rooting for him over Punk.
