More popular modders tend to get this weird ego/cult of personality thing and it’s pretty unfortunate. There are similiar weirdos in the Baldur’s Gate and Starbound communities, probably some others I’m forgetting.

I get fairly regular vampire attacks, and I've even helped some of them out a little (healing, buffs) as next to dragon attacks they're my second best source of regional guard armors for the museum.

I made a mod for Morrowind once. I think I called it “MH_Transport,” and all it did was add a “travel” option to the teleporter dude in Mournhold and Ebonheart so you could take your pack rat and merc with you back to Vvardenfell. People downloaded it. It was neat. That’s my story.

I made a Morrowind mod that added a hidden merchant that would craft Daedric armor pieces if you gave them a bunch of gold and ebony and a Grand Soul. Some dude wrote me code so that it wouldn't consume your copy of Azura's Star if you used a soul out of it, in exchange for me proofreading the dialogue he wrote for another mod. It was a nice exchange  I liked dicking around in the Morrowind Construction Set and I'm pretty sure I still have the install CD, but I can't be bothered to buy an external CD drive just to play around in it again.Fruits of the sea posted:So about the oblivion gate mod discussed earlier: Sick, thank you. The beta warning is out of an excess of caution, it shouldn't cause any issues but you never know when there will be some bizarro edge case in a TES game. I find that Oblivion requires a different mindset from me than either Skyrim or Morrowind. It’s almost like I’m playing that game just because of the quests, whereas the other two I’m playing it to go do random poo poo. I do think that for the most part, Oblivion has the best questlines in the series. Both the guilds and the more minor one off quests are always quite interesting, imo.

I'm playing infrequently on a "through the valleys" mod of Oblivion right now. It's well balanced mechanically so far, but I wanted to ask anyone that has played it: Are the shops still leveled? I'm level four and I've visited three smiths and they all suspiciously only sell the most basic of armor and weapons.

I haven't played Through the Valleys, but pretty sure the Ascension mod makes everything not leather/iron/steel much more rare. Like only in dungeons or on high level enemies.

Chainmail shouldn't be excluded from sale  .Double argh because a Kvatch guard fell in battle but I had to reload after my skeletal champion got me two murder accusations in the throne room melee; turns out Its honking big mace is like a physics object or something and it hits everything in its arc - furniture, allies, whatever. When I reloaded and summoned the weaker skellyman no guard died

Started playing oblivion and want to thank people talking about oblivion display tweaks and oblivion anti stutter etc 5 months ago it made my game a lot better. I'm running a very basic mod list with basically maskars supreme magicka and a mod to always give you +5 on level up on any skill you got a skill up on so luck does not get +5. Reading some tips like drain health made my atronach character a lot more viable because trying to do combat with like fireballs sucked a lot. Some tips from uesp like how to use telekinesis to recharge my magicka has been a huge help and now I basically never run out of magicka ever and am a terror in combat.

They're good mods! Though isn't Oblivion Stutter Remover directly superceded by Oblivion Display Tweaks? That is unless you turn off OSR's primary functions.

It's not a video, but one of my all time favorite Let's Plays was Arwen's SSLP where she was a new-comer to RPGs in general and even documented several false starts. She treated the game like a simulation and did things she felt her character would do and ate/slept and managed to get all the way through the game. Edit: Here's her site.
