This fuckin sucks but also that’s kinda what you get no? There’s never been any sense that Petras was like trapped in her contract or anything other than happy and willing to collaborate with Luke until this.

What are people's opinions on "Bad Habit" by Steve Lacy and "Sunroof" by DAZY and Nicky Youre?

Cuz I have heard every opinion on them. They're bad, they're good, they're okay, they're weird, the radio overplays them, these guys are flashes in the pan, they could have more hits, etc etc.

I think they're both pretty alright? Sunroof is probably the better of the two.

I heard them both pop up today on a Spotify playlist. Personally Bad Habits has stupid as hell lyrics but is pretty catchy and Gemini Rights is a pretty solid eight of an album. Sunroof has big summer energy, but it sounds like one of those post Jonas Bros projects or something. After the second listen it was already grating

Sunroof is fine, it has been on my playlist for months and I don’t skip it when it comes on but I wouldn’t have tagged it for the success it’s getting, especially when other songs with similar vibes this year have been better (Rex Orange County song with Tyler on it comes to mind)

Steve Lacy is cool but I didn’t vibe with the first single from his new album so I kinda set the rest on the back burner but it’s cool to see him be successful. Always love OF and OF-adjacent people blowing up; between his success and Syd’s dope new album and producing a song on the new Bey album it’s a great year for The Internet

Sunroof is an absolute bop on the commute. Bad Habits is okay, I'd probably see what's happening on other stations though when it comes on.

e:

I realised I was thinking of the Ed Sheeran song of the same title which, like most of his work, gets played to no end. Still, I think what I said holds true for the Steve Laccy track too.

We need more women in STEM, and by that, I mean skateboarding, television, esports, and magic.
I was today years old when I learned that Billy Joel was singing:

Even rode my motorcycle in the rain

Instead of:

Even robot mode is psycho in the rain

Y'know, it makes a lot more sense this way.

Listening now. I dig Sunroof! Will keep it in my library. The other one is ok but not my bag really.

Here's a new Remi Wolf live show. I heard her music in the wild last week for the first time. It was Disco Man playing on someone's Spotify playlist in the office, and maybe the algorithm picked up some IP data from my listening habits on the company wifi, but as an unabashed fanboy, that was pretty exciting for me.

Tove Lo seems to be really thriving. They've been playing Habits on my local radio this week, a song that I thought peaked in 2014.

This remix defined a whole year of my life:

Sorry, I take back my recommendation of this video. It includes a section where Remi Wolf calls out for an "Elizabeth" in the audience, and then for the next 5 minutes the camera focuses entirely on the one poor lady dancing in the crowd named Liz who responded to the call while Remi Wolf sings about a sex worker.

edit: unrelated but this is the best video I’ve seen all year

I bet when she wrote deja vu she didn’t expect to be performing it (and Uptown Girl) with Billy Joel himself

This is a year old but I dunno if it was ever posted here and I love it so so much.

It's basically 100 percent a blatant riff on mixing 80s homages like Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads and I'm here for that. If any other artists have recently done something like this, please, please link it here because I can't get enough:
