This morning in Brunswick, New York (just outside of Troy) a new KFC was going to open up. There's people waiting... And yes, that's a Planet Fitness next door. A Wendy's is planned to be built on the otherwise of Planet Fitness. There's a Popeye's just down the road into Troy, but here they are.

You've gotta luck out with KFCs here. Some are good but they also have a lot of the worst franchises, the kind where an order takes 15 minutes, nobody has a clue what they're doing, and the order comes out cold and half wrong.

You might be in for a world of hurt. The closest KFC to me is in Bennington, VT and one of the worst rated restaurants in the area. Yeah, KFC here in Edmonton sucks too. I'm not sure what happened but the chicken tastes like poo poo, is super oily and there's no flavour. I thought it was just that I had gotten older and didn't like the same stuff as when I was a kid. However, when I went to Japan a few years ago the KFC chicken was loving delicious and tasted the same as when I was a kid. I guess NA KFC has no interest in selling decent food I suppose.

My dad is from Shelbyville, KY and has extremely strong opinions about KFC. He shares the same opinion as the Colonel, that the chain went entirely to poo poo after he sold it. Apparently the Claudia Sanders Dinner House was the only place you could get the original version of the fried chicken recipe, but that may have changed recently? It's for sale now. I have heard it's spectacular in SE Asia, though. The best.

Plenty of gas stations in the south with great fried chicken (and/or fried porkchops, goddamn I miss this one place in Lynchburg), but Royal Farms is way better than Popeyes, KFC, Church's, etc.

The real curse is Disney made the little mermaid and her father black because they thought a movie where a girl stands up to her straight white father who is a king would piss off white male supremacists, so Disney actually made the movie less woke.
