I bet $650/family/year covers a decent amount of scaling work and generally gets people to go to the dentist instead of avoiding it and ending up with more restorative work in future instead of this preventative work. Either way, Hygienists should be stoked. I'm praying this is wildly successful and the government sees that covering our luxury bones is good public health measure and moves for 100% coverage. Ontario's fee guide has 1 unit of scaling at like $47.00 - kids typically start out with 2 units or so, adults move to 3 or 4 units per scaling appt. It's honestly not much, but it's something. The more I look, the worse it gets though. The biggest issue is this probably won't be done via assignment either.
