Dang, Godard passed away via assisted suicide. Not much in the way of details other than he had "multiple invalidating illnesses". Makes me think he was physically unable to direct anymore and that's why he went through with it.

Watching the MRA star wars out of curiosity and the very first conversation between Poe and Hux is already a disconnected mess with all the poo poo they cut out. Getting the idea every conversation in this is gonna be like Homer Simpson grabbing that sweet sweet candy

They have committed to the bit and the opening battle has literally no female pilots or soldiers or anything on screen for even a millisecond (no female voice-over either) until Leia is shown being happy that a ship blew up for about three seconds, about seven and a half minutes into the movie. She is not introduced or her role in any of this explained in any way. Transitions between shots and scenes feel like shoulder-mounted camcorder home movies from the 90s, conversations are short and stunted and both begin and end super awkwardly. Gotta wonder what it was about half the lines from this conversation between Hux and Snoke that rubbed them the wrong way. Did Snoke say trans rights or something ok I'll stop livetweeting this now
