As far as they're concerned, your vulgar comedy is just, it's who you are. And it's all you are. And I'm not just talking about the Emmy's here, I'm talking about EVERYTHING.

I really need to watch season 6 but the long hiatus killed the momentum. That was probably Jimmy's finest and most honest moment (because he was taking about himself while pretending he wasn't)

that sounds pretty cool. i hope it isn't used in a story with like two plot elements and paper thin characters, designed to sell toys to toddlers, with hundreds of increasingly nonsensical and pointless spinoffs.

the problem with the last jedi is that these scenes arent actually set up at all they hinge on our already knowing who luke skywalker is but also require us to accept that he tried to murder his nephew offscreen and that the reasons why he did this arent really important hes still basically a good guy

Dang, Godard passed away via assisted suicide. Not much in the way of details other than he had "multiple invalidating illnesses". Makes me think he was physically unable to direct anymore and that's why he went through with it.

Watching the MRA star wars out of curiosity and the very first conversation between Poe and Hux is already a disconnected mess with all the poo poo they cut out. Getting the idea every conversation in this is gonna be like Homer Simpson grabbing that sweet sweet candy

Would genuinely love to see their take on the last star wars, which is already like three movies happening on top of each other, and has all of the Leia scenes cobbled together from before Carrie Fisher died

They have committed to the bit and the opening battle has literally no female pilots or soldiers or anything on screen for even a millisecond (no female voice-over either) until Leia is shown being happy that a ship blew up for about three seconds, about seven and a half minutes into the movie. She is not introduced or her role in any of this explained in any way.

Transitions between shots and scenes feel like shoulder-mounted camcorder home movies from the 90s, conversations are short and stunted and both begin and end super awkwardly. Gotta wonder what it was about half the lines from this conversation between Hux and Snoke that rubbed them the wrong way. Did Snoke say trans rights or something

ok I'll stop livetweeting this now

I watched the first two episodes of the newest season of Rick and Morty last night. The first one is basically all callbacks to previous seasons, but I liked the Roy storyline in the second one. This has been the C-SPAM Rick and Morty update.

Twin Peaks season 1: Really good
Twin Peaks season 2, first half: excellent
Twin peaks season 2, second half: Terrible.
Twin peaks season 2 finale: Goddamn incredible
Fire Walk With Me - The Twin Peaks Movie, First third: Why is the guy who sings "they did a bad bad thing" here with Solid Snake?
Fire Walk With Me - The Twin Peaks Movie, Second third: Really good, that's not Donna
Fire Walk With Me - The Twin Peaks Movie, third third: eh, yeah it's okay. Guess it had to be this
Fire Walk With Me - The Twin Peaks Movie, Deleted Scenes: Twin peaks is back, baby
Twin Peaks Season 3, not episode 8: Good but not as good and not in the same way. also kinda too out-there, maybe. A sequel to Inland Empire more than 90s twin peaks
Twin Peaks Season 3, Episode 8: A goddamn good hour of Television, and artsy fartsy as gently caress on top

edit: I didn't read the books

Not to be all "art vs artist" but uh lmao

Lol of course they elevated the embodiment of their toxic male fanbase to hero status. Looking forward to the Fight Club edit where it’s only Tyler doin cool poo poo and bein tough!

I actually thought Kylo was a cool villain for a pulp series, based on resentment, entitlement, and unresolved inner turmoil. There were definite shades of irl twentysomething males who can’t get laid and decide going full Deus Vult is the only reasonable alternative.

Too bad the sequels collapsed into a gigantic mess

Ya I had to rematch the end of last season to even remember what happened.

Still think the series kind of peaked when they straight up lost and had no choice but to abandon their original universe. They’ve been chasing that high ever since.

I watched a few episodes and it was alright. It's a workplace comedy set at a school in a working class Black neighborhood.

The creator is a lib at the very least seems to realize they are making a network sitcom.

https://twitter.com/quintabrunson/status/1529543520909787136?s=20&t=Mn6D2YzLkbp4gLrzJdfAJA

If they buy into the liberal fan discourse about it being important going into season 2 it might get unbearable, but S1 seemed fine.

Maybe I'm just falling for the lure of representation though. I watched a lot of Superstore too. Shows about service workers and public employees let me see myself and people I know on screen.
