With JFK (like "Bigfoot", aliens, etc.) it seems like some theories are promulgated with the intent to discredit the notion of there being a conspiracy at all- just throwing outlandish poo poo on the pile so it has to be evaluated same as the other theories, making the "safest" and least conspiratorial explanation look correct by comparison. Because if I'm told it's between Oswald doing it alone and Kennedy having a radio controlled detonator in his head, I'd have a difficult time caring let alone putting much thought into which I believe is the more likely story.
