800peepee51doodoo posted:There may be some reasonable explanation but its really hard to imagine what that could be where "make a list of people who want it (and pay deposit/full amount, limit one per card+address) and send it when available" is just completely impossible. If anything, it feels like Sony (and other manufacturers of popular items) prefer it this way, since it generates an increased sense of scarcity and hype which makes the items even more desirable. I mean, poo poo, Walmart and Amazon allow scalpers to sell on their site which I feel like Sony could put a stop to, if they actually wanted to. Anyway, I'm just griping and doesn't really matter to me since my PS4 is still doing great. I'll probably do like Bottom Liner and just wait for a PS5 Pro or Slim or whatever I've actually heard Sony's situation described as a scalper death spiral. They don't want to sell PS5s they want to sell PS5 games. Scalpers don't buy games for their storage unit full of unopened PS5s. As long as it has a reputation as the console nobody can buy devs will stick with cross gen games or maybe take another look at the Switch. I'm sure at first a little FOMO felt like good buzz for them but two years on I can't imagine they're happy with this situation.

I realized that, after all these years, I never had these and I have no idea how it's never come up till now. But I finally got a set of offset spatulas and a wet/dry shop vac.

Annabel Pee posted:Not complaining but how on Earth can they still be coming out with new Beatles album versions. The technology developed by Weta for the Get Back documentary included a way to take the original master recordings and separate the instruments and vocals into individual "HD" tracks, which makes remixing for modern ears possible. So they're doing that. They've also got hundreds of hours of outtakes, alternate takes, and demos, some of which has never been heard before, so adding them with a fancy book makes it even more appealing.

My backpacking trip is over, and it was fantastic. The gear worked out great, and we had a blast. Now I'm back to hemorrhaging money on musical instruments: Sweetwater finally had the bass I've been lusting after back in stock, so I pulled the trigger. It's a Schecter SLS Elite Evil Twin bass. I think my guitar collection is complete enough for now. I don't think I need a steel string acoustic, and I don't really have any interest in 12 strings or anything more exotic, so (hopefully) this is the last one for a while. I can switch over to synths and building out a eurorack

Bought a gas grill for 25 euros. Gave it a good clean, everything works. It's gonna be cheaper to cook with propane in a bottle than with electricity this winter.

A couple hours into it and it's fun. I feel like a fraud for choosing the "casual" option, though. I just don't have the patience to stew over a ridiculous puzzle for hours before solving it anymore. Definitely feels like Monkey Island, so it's worth the $25 if you're a fan.

My wife is playing that game (and Monkey Island 1 is her favorite game), and is loving it. I didn’t like the art style at first, but came around to it in gameplay. It reminds me of a Double Fine game. The animation is a bit crude, but the art style and colors are gorgeous.

At some point I want to pick up a proper long and short wave uv light and set up a darkened cabinet for these. But instead I keep buying more tiki mugs, books, and better bartending equipment: It's just really interesting to read about all the work done to rediscover many of these long lost recipes, decode the contents, and track down forgotten ingredients otherwise lost to time.
