They pull that poo poo every time any city does anything they disagree with, somehow it's not illegal to create that kind of exception to new laws. When Austin tried to make minor cuts to its police budget, the state passed a law that any city over a certain size would have to pay a penalty to the state in the amount that police funds were cut. It is effectively illegal to defund the police in Texas - but only for larger cities. Smaller towns that are all deep red can do whatever the gently caress they want.

I got my updated booster + flu shot on Sunday and it absoluteky kicked my rear end in a way that the earlier ones didn't. Knocked me flat out pretty much all day yesterday with alternating sweats and chills plus incredible fatigue. Just walking across the house would make me dizzy.

I'm going to be a moron and get both this afternoon. When I got the first booster, I got it in conjunction with the flu shot and it knocked me down for a day. I'm excited to see the results of my poor choices.

Got both and tbh beyond being a little more worn out than usual I was fine, but I work nights and got it at 9am and then slept a full 8 hours. Arm was a little sore the day of but 3 days later the soreness in my arm is gone and I feel fine. Didn't keel me over like the 2nd shot of the 2 dose initial series, and the first booster didn't really kick me too badly either, just mild soreness and a little less energy that day. Maybe the boosters didn't take, maybe they did, or maybe I just got lucky twice in a row and had basically no side effects.

Flu+booster crew checking in. Vax and boosters last year did nothing to me but make my arm sore. This year, the combo with flu gave me about 24 hours of dull body ache and brain fog. I appear to be better now (40 hours later).

I got boosted back in January (first boost) and caught it last month out here on work travel. It kicked my rear end with a wicked fever for 4 days and I coughed up some bloody mucus a few times. The headache was awful.
