Proposed best comp: Sazabi, exia, zaku II, barbatos, also zaku II, jim. You all sprint at the enemy team as fast as possible, ignore their sazabi, and dive their backline to beat them to death.

Opened the free box from my battlepass and I'm not sure if this is a bug or a very unlikely coincidence. Either way, it really sucks to get unlocks for gundam you don't have.

Exia is good but I think, even despite the nerfs, the Barbatos is still much stronger unless the map has a lot of open space or long sightlines like Harbor City. The GM is my favorite MS in the game by far, but I don't think it's very powerful. It's designed to be a mid to short range support character, but it badly lacks mobility and its base HP is low, which means any stun or shield break is instant death. "Meta" comp is probably something like Sazabi, RX-78 or Marasai, Methuss or Unicorn, GM Sniper II, Barbatos, and DOM Trooper.

I normally think sniping is dishonorable but it's just so easy in this game as GM Sniper II hell, I can stand in spawn and people will sit out there and try to shoot me at the beginning of the game

I wish it would give me my 2nd day login so I could finish that stage of the beginner challenges, but other than that I like this game alright. I get rolled almost every match, but the novelty of playing a Gundam is still keeping me motivated.

It's absolutely wild how much damage the GM's beam pistol does at the proper range, just two shotting people while staring at them through your shield.

It's probably overpowered, but it's overpowered in such a way that it doesn't feel bad to play against, and it's probably for the best that they gave the Sniper a bunch of teamplay skills so when it invariably gets slam locked every round occasionally the guy playing it will maybe help the team.

Boooo My worry is what it takes to unlock the suits f2p. How many blue coins do you get for completing all of the beginner challenges? What happens after? As far as I can tell, blue coins only come from the beginner challenge track. You don't find them in supply pods and you don't get any for leveling up. There's a big chunk of it in the Battle Pass, but even that only seems to offer like one suit unlock a season? (which is in theory kinda fine if they introduce one suit per season- but still kinda slow.)

much like the tf2 sniper the GM sniper is hilariously easy pickings for any zaku, barbatos, asshimar, or presumably exia. mobility is so powerful in this game i wouldn't be entirely shocked if it ends up not being in meta, but also with the way people currently play it's hard to make judgements about how the game will work once everyone is grouping up and making coordinated pushes. might be a lot harder once people start actually screening for the sniper i predict zaku will suddenly become a lot less useful once the early day uncoordinated honeymoon wears off though. i think turn a will be good as a hard counter to the more close ranged robots but not a core pick because it's otherwise kind of mediocre ninjewtsu fucked around with this message at 19:19 on Sep 23, 2022 |

When people are grouped they'll also be protecting the sniper and the 1 hit kill will probably run rampant in high level ranked. Low ranked gets the "widowmaker in overwatch" problem. Hyped as hell, not gonna lie.

yeah but there's so much space in these maps and mobility is so high idk if a high skill asshimar or zaku won't be able to just dash behind and ruin a sniper's lunch anyway, or punch through a screen to divebomb the sniper before anyone can stop them. there's a reasonable amount of aoes for punishing the kind of tight groups that would make that especially difficult and the asshimar gets one of the better ones

Yeah the 3 currencies are: 1. gold - buy this 2. blue - challenges get these (note: not the daily challenges lol, those progress the season pass) 3. green - you got a dupe so now you can buy a banana sticker of your choosing

Even if they trade, being in the backline isn't really a trade with the anyone can rez thing. Horrible memories of overwatch league coming back. I'm really interested if Barbatos gets a spot, personally.

Even if they trade, being in the backline isn't really a trade with the anyone can rez thing. eh, just means the dive has to be good enough to kill the body too, which isn't that much more of a barrier (helps guarantees that the diver can't succeed and also get away though). may prove to be enough to make diving not worth it - though also barbatos gets to sidestep that issue entirely too i don't want to get my hopes up but honest i'm kind of excited about this game, i feel like every mechanical difference from overwatch is a big improvement that directly addresses the big things i disliked about overwatch. i do wish stuns weren't as prevalent though - i feel like they were less common in the network test?
