What's wrong with Super Punch-out? I think it's the only one I ever played for a serious amount of time, this makes me think I need to try the Wii one at some point.

It's just a different style game. They tried to make it more like a fighting game with meters and counters and stuff. Also the new characters are pretty devoid of personality.

Yeah, none of the new stuff it added improved the game, it was just there. Not a coincidence the Wii version ignored it all and went back to the NES game as base. Also the Wii version let you play with motion controls and the Wii balance board
