Chinston Wurchill posted:Edge of Spider-Verse hasn't been super great so far, but I really dug this week's "Once Upon a Spider" Disney princess version of Spidey. The tone and art are just perfect, and I love that cute little spider sidekick! That's amazingly good in so many ways. I love alternate universes like this.

I'm trying to remember a panel from a Spawn spinoff comic. I think it was Malebolgia (or some such creature) who had been captured and caged and a conversation went something like this: Guy: There's someone coming. Looks like an angel. M: Angel? Hah! I eat angels for breakfast. Guy: Says her name in Angela. M: .......we should leave. Anybody?

The one thing I'll always remember about Spawn is that in one of the earlier issues, he tricks a demon that's stalking him by lovingly crafting his own ridiculously caped silhouette out of balsa wood he found laying around in a matter of moments.

I can't remember the classic issue but maybe McFarlane was doing a riff on that time Spider-Man evaded someone using a decoy by stuffing his suit and puppeteering it from above.

MasterBuilder posted:What's with Gwen creeping behind Peter? The Celestial judge appears to those being judged as someone they're close to. It's actually a pretty touching issue overall. This ASM run has been good aside from the WHAT DID PETER DO?! stuff. From today's Thor #27. I guess being god of stories also makes Loki god of dad jokes. That was also a good issue, and more clever than usual - I see that Ewing is credited, which probably helps. The Larocca art is what it is, but the writing was good.
