yea that checks out. birds have a pretty decent barometer built in that alerts them to low pressure systems. its how they know to head into land from sea to a avoid getting clobbered

It seems the storm has consistently tracked on the eastern side of the predicted path, and if that trend continues, it should make landfall well south (80 - 90 miles) of Tampa. Not sure how much a difference that would make in relation to sustained wind speeds and storm surge flooding compared to a direct hit. First time hurricane rider here so... yeah this'll be interesting.
