He was in Paris and came out to see President Wilson at the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Years later, Nguyễn Ái Quốc returned to Vietnam and changed his name to Ho Chi Minh. i had a class in high school that was just focused on the vietnam war. it ruled outside of all of the horrific crimes against humanity. even to a dumbass teenager in 2005, it was absolutely undeniable that american “foreign policy” is the most psychotic bullshit. at every step, the people in charge were like HOW CAN WE DIAL THIS UP TO 11????? at every single junction/decision point. the US literally told Ho Chi Minh to go fly a kite when he presented a completely reasonable and well articulated petition for assistance, then turned around like a decade later and credulously acted insulted. it’s absolutely ridiculous at every single step through history; the US told him to gently caress off, he hosed off, and then the response to him loving off was “HOW DARE HE gently caress OFF IN THE PRESENCE OF THE GREAT AMERICAN STATE???? WE MUST PROTECT THIS POTATO PATCH MASQUERADING AS A FRENCH AIRFIELD!!!!”
