They are really nice and are like 90-95% of the way to the Swarovskis I was looking at that were like 3x the price. Swaros are so good but the price tag makes my eyes bleed

Also just bought a Canon R6 body from a buddy. He's been letting me borrow it for a few months and gave me a pretty good deal on it. I gotta slow down the spending though jfc

The R6 generation is the biggest jump for camera tech since DSLRs. Even after a year, every time I pick it up it blows my mind. The RF lenses are equally incredible, the 50 1.2 and 70-200 2.8 are arguably the best lenses ever made. Could never go back.

The Canon mirrorless line is mindblowing. It was worth it for the animal eye tracking AF alone. I havent actually tried it with RF mount lenses yet since I only really use it for wildlife and my EF 500mm is pretty much permanently mounted to it. I have been thinking of picking up the 100-500 at some point in the future as an option for larger, closer animals. I dont think I can justify dropping 12k on a new RF mount super tele tho lmao

I have the Onewheel+ XR. I think its going to be phased out by the new GT which is a shame as what I'm reading in the wild is that its a downgrade from the XR. Haven't tried the GT myself but it looks really plastic-y compared to the earlier models. I've seen people renting Onewheels out on Marketplace if you wanted to try one.

Additional trip report. I've had mine since Jun 21' and I've put about 600 miles on it. I've *knocks on wood* not broken my arm yet. Couple of falls and scrapes but I barely break 14 mph/22.5 kmh on it.

It was 100% worth the mental game to throw on some headphones and cruise around to clear your head.

I want a one wheel cause in my mind it would subvert the thing that kept me from ever getting more into skating as a commute method (my city's roads and sidewalks are in godawful condition 24/7/365 due to the weather so anything under an 80mm wheel is a hard sell). I love the simplicity of Big Wheel, Stand On Go Zoom. I also don't have a car so anything that actually functions as a practical transport device is a worthwhile investment, and it would be much easier to bring on the bus/train than my e bike

There's a thread for that kind of thing in The Great Outdoors: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3990963

I don't know that much about them but it kind of sounds like EUCs and eskates are more practical than onewheels

If you just want practical transport you can bring on a train scooters are probably even more practical though (for some reason I guess there isn't an escooter thread at all?)

We’ve actually got a full rear end store that rents them out around here among other electric personal transport whatsits. They’re super fun once you get the hand of them and as the other goon said are a blast to pop in some earbuds and cruise (once you aren’t preoccupied with not killing yourself). I’d love to get one but I don’t need to spend a grand on something I may get bored of and not ride regularly. I’ve already got a bike and a drone I don’t use enough.

The battery life is pretty good imo, and you get a lot of control over it with managing system wattage.

I probably get 2-3 hours playing Control, 5+ on less intense games like Hollow Knight and Disco Elysium.

Does it have decently high wattage charging? I wouldn’t consider that bad battery life if I could get it back up above 50% quickly.

The charger it came with (and which I lost today at my hotel) I believe is 50 watts — I felt like it charged pretty quickly and even running at full tilt it tops off.

I've got gear envy for sure. I still rock my 5D iv, but I definitely lust after this crazy new autofocus tech.

Sadly I think I'll be switching to Sony when I finally upgrade, just because of the 200-600 lens.

I've thought about building a new PC for the past couple years but my current one isn't really that obsolete and I don't want to deal with graphics card shopping.
