How’s Diablo 2 on the PS5? Been thinking about it since launch and the sales have been solid. I know it had some issues when it came out but hopefully they’re fixed. I can't recall but you get back into the overworld after the final fight. Edit: Actually it should be before you enter the Millenium Tower. drat, I love the bgm for that place.

My first Diablo was 3 on PS3 like 9 years ago and I absolutely loved it. Bought it multiple times on multiple different systems. So naturally when a remake of 2 was announced, I got excited and pre-ordered it. Then I played the beta of it and really wasn't feeling it  Apparently I'm a scrub for liking 3 but not liking 2 lol. It just felt so old to me. So yeah, I guess it is a faithful remake, just not one that appealed to me.

For me the D2 remake delivered exactly what I wanted out of one, which is D2 that works well on a controller with gorgeous graphics and pretty much nothing else altered. D2 is an experience that is positively crystalized inside my adult brain and I think highly of VV for respecting that.

Current Diablo 3 is an okay game but it's good for like maybe three to four days. I only played Diablo 2 for like one playthrough on Normal back in the day and I didn't really get into it until after Diablo 3 came out and was complete dogshit (the launch version that is) so it's definitely not just because of nostalgia that I like Diablo 2.

I like D2 and D3 for very different reasons, though I think Blizzard missed a pretty obvious opportunity by not porting the campaigns of 1/2 into 3. The loot tables and graphics would obviously be very different but that would have been pretty fun.

Joined PlayStation Stars and I have 0 points even though I pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 and God of War Ragnarok a while back, although I got a notification on my PS5 saying there's gonna be campaigns to earn points for those games coming later. I guess you only get points added for purchases made after you join?
