There were heaps of Jamie and Cersei shippers -- people loved Jamie in particular, and his doomed love for his sister was a big part of that appeal. There were even more Dany and Jon shippers. To say nothing of the scene where Theon attempts to fingerbang Yara on that horse (DnD originally wanted Yara to be played by Lilly Allen lmfao). And what about porn? Twin fantasies? Or manga and anime? Or the bajillionty TikTok memes with women stuck in tumble dryers? Or Euphoria? Skins? Carnivale? Rome? So my take back when porno movies were in a gray area legally due to obscenity laws vs free speech so you had to have a plot amoung other things. You couldnt put a gonzo movie in theaters but you could tell a story. Like taboo mother son comes to mind and while weird you can argue the uncomfortable aspect was part of what the "art" was. Or that weird twin sisters porno with them doing a black mass or something. I liked vivid videos porn in the 1990s cause it felt like the people behind the camera really wanted to make music videos or sci fi films.

...I just realized that this story about someone desperately trying to avoid the pre-ordained destiny of loving their own mom was probably an intentional Oedipus Rex homage. I mean, I guess they could have accomplished the same thing thing with the fortune cookie saying he'd murder his dad, but it's easier to imagine a situation where that could accidentally happen. Jerry somehow unintentionally loving his mom because of Final Destination style contrived destiny is a more absurd scenario.

I'm gonna' ignore the social implications of joking about incest for the moment. They keep doing this same thing and this is the only time it's been an actual, well-crafted joke. Usually it's more "incest. That's the joke. incest exists. Laugh at my joke where I mentioned that incest exists." And they wanted it to be bigger than that, but people didn't connect to the first big scifi plot device of "we're gonna' come up with a convolutated way for two of our characters do an incest" and so they did it the gently caress again. Three of the four Smiths have now had incest forced upon them, or nearly so. And this time it was at least finally a well-crafted joke (one that probably shouldn't have existed, but again I'm ignoring the social implications for now), so maybe they can just knock it the gently caress off now that they got their laugh. And me wanting them to stop because it's not appealing to me is just as valid as the opinion that incest jokes are the tops and you hope they keep doing it, but I know which of us looks like a fuckin' weirdo and it sure as poo poo ain't me.

I mean, if by 'not their consent' you mean, 'they actively tuned into a comedy TV cartoon that has been regularly doing gross out shock humour for like a decade now' then, like, sure. Of all the weird uncomfortable poo poo this show does, this sure is a weirdly specific thing to get so hung up on. Rick taking his granddaughter to a drug fuelled space orgy or his grandson to get 'dat mermaid puss' is way more hosed up. Or, y'know, all the many, many horrific violent murders in like every episode. What show have you all been watching this whole time?
