I like but don't love She-Hulk. It could be funnier and I'm sorta frustrated that they keep opening up threads and then going nowhere with it (Where's Hulk damnit?)

Werewolf by Night on the other hand is fabulous! I kinda hope they go full speed ahead with this. Like keep the main capes and tights stuff but I'd enjoy a parallel ongoing semi-horror "title'. I enjoyed it that much.

Maybe it's just dealing in a lot of commonly used tropes, but I kinda felt like the big final battle in Werewolf By Night was kind of an honmage to the final battle in Blade
-Big weird archaic chamber
-Generic security goons with stun sticks getting shredded
-Scary lady in all white bullying the heroine

I dunno, maybe I'm stretching

No that's what I'm referring to. Showing him flying in space doesn't exactly give any closure to what he's up to.

Yeah it’s not terribly rational to expect closure for Bruce’s adventure in space. That’s clearly a different show/movie. He was a guest star.

It’s not even like that was a big plot point or anything. It’s a couple of seconds of the show.

I don’t even really expect it to lead anywhere in a future project. I think we were just supposed to laugh at the idea of Bruce calling from some space adventure.

The main takeaway I get from that is “no one believes in monsters except the hunters who are kind of assholes”. Which seems like a natural setup for a Blade who operates under the surface dealing with a problem others don’t know. And who is a bit of an rear end in a top hat.

Were the other hunters in Wwbn actual characters or just made up for the special?

I liked WBN but I felt like the black and white only worked in the scenes where they really pushed the lighting to make use of dramatic shadows. A lot of the time it just felt like someone ran it through a greyscale filter.

The problem was the shot in color originally; if you want Black and White to really work you got to do what Wandavision did for their B&W scenes

It also didn't usually feel like an old movie as far as composition and the rest of the directorial choices went. Probably the best shot in the whole thing was the transformation scene, partly because it felt like a classic horror scene.

Really enjoyed it overall, though! The most violent thing the MCU has ever done, right?

It was shot in color but the director had a second monitor to watch the footage in black and white so they could fix things that didn't show up as well. It's why it doesn't look exactly right but a lot better than other attempts.

MODOK and Hit Monkey slipped in before they ended up axing a bunch of plans for more animated stuff. They were originally gonna have a Howard the Duck miniseries, as well as one for Tigra and Dazzler, and they would all lead into an Offenders show.

They're still doing one-off or non-canon projects, but it's all going to Disney+ now and none of the older stuff is coming back, and it's very likely most of it will be pruned in favor of future reboots instead of tying them into the MCU.

this is the exact opposite problem to what the Munsters movie is having; Rob Zombie apparently intended it to be black and white, like the show, and all the set design, color choices, and lighting was chosen with that in mind, but the studio was like "umm black in white is unwatchable dreck for old people, shoot it in color." I've seen pics where the color is desaturated and it actually looks pretty cool instead of what it looks like now, which is a simultaneous mix of low budget pornography and a community theater live recording.
