It doesn't show up well in the video but there's a weird orange or tan or something around his paws and belly. That's what the vet thought was "dirty", but he's clean as a whistle.  Is there a cat version of the term "mutt" to describe one with a very mixed bloodline?

"Domestic (short/medium/long)hair" is the general term for "random mutt cat," and that dude is definitely a very handsome DSH. Love to see a former feral doing well!

Yeah he's a muscly boy from his former life, as well as quite thick-furred to account for the Wisconsin winters. Aside from the ear he's got no issues, and even that one doesn't seem to bother him. He pads a lot (he's doing it in the second picture) basically anywhere, which we assume means he's quite happy.

 This is Iona/Ona/Onababy/Ona-Balogna. I've posted her in the thread before. She was my neighbors cat when I stayed with my family. She used to live on my parents porch and get fed by all the neighbors. When I stayed with them she'd wait for me to get home from work and come running if I made kissy noises on the porch in the middle of the night. Now she lives in Detroit with me. I went and kitty-napped her in the middle of night on Sunday. (Her previous owner knew I was taking her, her daughter left Ona behind when she moved in with her boyfriend and Ona is scared of the family dog.) Now she sleeps on my boyfriend's pillow all day and stares at me in my sleep from atop my nightstand. UwUnabomber has a new favorite as of 23:09 on Oct 13, 2022 |

Background: earlier this year a gray seal found its way from a tidal river into a pond at a business park in our city. The entire city adopted him and named him Shoebert. About a month ago he left the pond and made his way to the police department, where they boxed him up and transported him to Connecticut, where he was rehabbed and released. They attached a transponder to him which shows that he quickly returned to us in Beverly, Mass. This is a video of his journey from the pond to the police station.
