Castlevania games have a decent hit rate, there's probably only a handful of them that are outright bad and most of those are 3D ones

The castlevania fighting game wasn't good but it remembered Cornell so it gets a point there. I'd like to see an adaptation of the original plans for castlevania 64, all the planned characters and stories, as a good metroidvania demake/remake but that's just a pipe dream. Lotta neat ideas there. Like the original plan to have this guy as a playable character.  He would run around with a shotgun and chainsaw. He got cut and was recycled into the gardener enemy.

there's a romhack of Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows that removes the wonky touch screen mechanics and increases the drop rate of souls, and with those changes it is probably one of my favourite Castlevania games. ranking of gba castlevanias: 1. I like CotM a lot more than Harmony of Dissonance but that Dracula boss fight is a real piece of poo poo if you didn't grind or get lucky on health drops
