The simple square as the set symbol for sephiroth is brilliant. The actual UB final fantasy stuff could hardly do better. Wild that he's a common.

The Human Crouton posted:It's a downloadable program for making your own custom cards. The result can look presentable as a real Magic card, but will not pass any scrutiny if being observed by anyone with more than a causal interest in the game. It does not have any sort of database of existing card images, and does not print existing card images, though one can mock up an existing card if they wished. If someone does try to make a real Magic card there will often be margin and text size issues that will give it away. I'm gonna rule that linking to this site is OK.

It's been a while since I used the program but I think you get the square by default if you don't set an expansion symbol of your own

The images that MSE outputs are also horrendously low rez, not printable quality

if someone has the ability to print cards on their own, they don't need MSE because they can just nab images of the actual cards from scryfall or w/e. i think it was just a little unclear what the site was on first post if you didn't dig into it, but i don't think there's any question on whether or not it's doing anything against forum rules

Yeah I think MSE is just built off taking frames from repurposed MTGO assets.

I'm being a bit pedantic here, but most of these cards were made by mtgcardsmith.com, which is a web-based program which does the same thing except that the results look much, much worse. MSE is a lot of fun and I encourage people to check it out. It can be addicting! About six or seven years ago I had a lot of time on my hands and made a whole set based on Metalocalypse. http://imgur.com/a/p0cys http://imgur.com/a/Euo2q http://imgur.com/a/0c9fF Gynovore fucked around with this message at 18:59 on Oct 18, 2022 |

Themes are organized in to modules and you pick out which ones you want to play with that day, plus a utility module with the basics like fixing and stuff. So that day we had scarecrows, cycling, miracles, and devotion. I had astral slide, lightning rift, and faith of the devoted but the two guys to my right both went all in on cyclers and I had to pivot out

It obscures a bit of the art but w/e, you can separate them back out super quickly with one runthrough.

Dream cube if I ever get the physical space. I've got a personal 540 of favorites and an Modern Horizons Two 270 card cube in a fat pack box. My next project is a 360 card cube that has no tokens/counters/or extraneous game pieces that I'm calling a "Clean 360" that I could travel with easily.

Ugh so amazing. I wanna take our 540 and add modules up to 720 but they would all be smaller and play into an already powerful cube so it feels tougher to balance power with modules like this. Gotta be full module

Honestly the coolest part was like, you have the room to spread out all the regular suspects. I think in most 540 size cubes probably 60% of the cards are the same? With this you get to pick cards you'd never include in a tight cube. Also someone had split screen in their miracles deck. Getting four shots and drawing what you want each turn is pretty good!

I've been thinking about getting some Stomping Grounds and other shocks to fill out my collection a bit so I can built more Pioneer decks. Do you all think pricing will go down significantly after the 2022 version of the Pioneer Challenger decks come out? Historically, I looked at some cards like Brazen Borrower which seemed to go down ~33% after the 2021 versions were released, Omniscience went down around 50% over the next 30 days, but cards like Chandra, TOD and Thoughtseize didn't seem to move much.

Looking for some feedback on my pioneer deck. I pretty much only play commander, and I thought the deck linked below would be the closest to what I like to do in Magic. It's a home brew, I don't think its in the Meta but its probably closest to the Orzhov Pioneer Precon. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/Yw3Mu5JQwUGppKz-IRrUyQ Went 0/3 tonight losing to Rakdos Sacrifice, Blue Spirits, and Izzet extra turns. Generally want to keep a hand with Sram/Drake and something to put on it to start turning thru the deck. I can't seem to keep anything on the board to start the engine. I know I'm light on interaction, but I figured I'd get some extra eyes on this to see if its viable or if I should just move on.
