What can i watch that is recent and I probably haven't seen that is a Scream Queen bingo square. I was thinking of watching Shudder's Queer for Fear but I'm unsure if streaming 1 hour episodes count plus its 4 hours.

Finally got around to Deadstream tonight. What a delight! I'm sure it's been said before but I really enjoyed it being Livestreamer + Evil Dead with some extra weirdness thrown in. They did a great job with the protagonist, which was a really tricky balance between someone you hate but want to root for. Legit funny the entire time as well. I'm really a sucker for found footage movies and the ones I like most do a great job of giving you a great understanding of the physical space you'll be seeing over and over, plus the Chekhov's Guns to show you where the scares are coming later on. Deadstream, Hell House, Grave Encounters, Gonjiam are fun to watch because they take a long time setting up their environments and pay it all of with scares later on.

V/H/S 99 was just alright. For Ozzy's Dungeon it felt like the entire part where the host was forced to go through the home made challenge was filler.

I liked it but it the part you're referring too in that short was too long and too tame. If it was just a short and brutal ending to the main part of the short it would've had a lot more impact.

the problem I see for the V/H/S series going forward is youtube and now a lot of full length movies have gotten so good at the "analog horror" thing as it grows more popular that V/H/S is gonna have a hard time keeping up: why watch aesthetics and mediocre stories when now you can have aesthetics and good stories?

The software AnyDVD, plus ImgBurn, and a Blu-Ray drive can 1:1 copy the disc with the region coding removed, to a blank BD-R or BD-R DL, but most people just make an mkv. Anyways, there's always the region free "UNCUT Premium Signature Edition" if you want to pay $200! (You get the soundtrack on a compact disc!) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076W3KC4J

checkplease posted:I just watched In the mouth of madness which completely rules with its insanity. This might be one of my top Carpenters now. Sam Neil is fantastic, directing is smart, and all the visuals and sets are wonderfully creepy. There’s many budget effects that just work so well (weird bicycle man). And the ending is fun too. Saw this when it was released on a campus at a midnight showing with half the theater drunk. It was just people screaming and jumping for everything. Loved it.

Don't get me wrong V/H/S has always been stupid, but the first one was kind of edgy stupid in this way that was sort of? interesting I guess. The new one felt like it was funded by giving each director a $100 gift card to Halloween superstore. The first segment has a part where there is supposed to be human torso and they put a bloody shirt over some white styrofoam and the styrofoam is just blatantly popping out. Like that would even be questionable in a haunted house ride, but a movie... The only good one was the Nickelodeon half of the dungeon game segment. And even with that one, the last 2/3rds were tedious and basically ruined it.

My films of the month are definitely 1. Halloween Ends, a distant 2. Terrifier 2, and a close 3. Deadstream, with honorable mentions Hellraiser and VHS99 I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it to theaters for Prey For The Devil, so in terms of new films I think I'm unfortunately done for the month If yall haven't seen Resurrection yet you'll love it when it hits Shudder* next Friday *Also there's a couple old Fulci hitting the service Monday (Demonia, Aenigma and Manhattan Baby) in addition to a 2019 documentary about him (Fulci For Fake)

VHS 99 Bitch Cat: Good depiction of being a shithead teenager in 1999 I guess, but not super interesting otherwise. Hazing: This would have been a good segment if it had ended with the woman screaming as she drowns alive. It would have been an okay segment if it ended when the other sisters woke up in the coffins and the dead woman jumped on them. Instead, it has the worst and most unnecessary exposition dump I've ever seen and is now garbage. Ozzy's Dungeon: Why was there a ten-minute PG-13 torture porn segment in the middle of what would have otherwise been a good short? Medusa: Overly-long for not a particularly good payoff. Another good depiction of being a shithead teenager in 1999 I guess. Nate and Troy Go to Hell: Just fun. Tonally inconsistent with the rest of the franchise and inconsistent with the rest of the movie by actually being good, although the ending was a little lame. 1stGear fucked around with this message at 09:39 on Oct 22, 2022 |

Kvlt! posted:where are people watching Terrifier 2? It says "not available in your location" on prime and im not using a VPN You have to keep checking. Two days ago the closest theater was an hour and 45 miles away in the middle of the Louisiana swamp. Yesterday it was in downtown New Orleans. Here's my review: There were some genuinely uncomfortable scenes in the movie as Art did his thing. However, most of the victims suffered from Stupid Slasher Victim syndrome, and there was way too much victim chivalry and not enough time spent letting us see a clown get his rear end kicked. I'll reiterate that Haunting Hour is RL Stines best horror for younger people series, so that's a fun anthology to check out. It's got some weak episodes, but a lot of them were quite fun.
