Wow the US road signs say poo poo like “NO parking” in english and there’s a red curb while in Europe it says “nay parkovat” on a tiny sign bolted to a 6000 year old building with a very obvious and universal emblem of a green heptagon surrounded by twelve orange aubergines. As a native English speaker I didn't understand what "No Standing" meant until I was 30. I even remember failing that question on my driving test and not caring enough to find out what the actual answer was. I just remember going "What? I'm not allowed to stand here??? When my home town put a large highway through a residential neighborhood in the 50's, they built several pedestrian underpass tunnels so that people could safely transit under it. The tunnels proved to be a safe, warm place for people to sleep, so they fenced them off and you have to cross at grade, because of course.

Takes about fifty seconds, less if you really floor it.

It's just that the turnaround time is 30-40 years instead of 5 now.
