It's got about the same sensor as an 80D and a newer DIGIC processor so it ought to do well with good glass. The big downside is 5 fps frame rate and 10 shot max sequence with RAWs but you can probably still get some good shots.

The Flickr camera explorer is a good tool to see what different body and lens combinations are capable of (assuming accurate EXIF data). Definitely looks capable with the right lens.

Oh thank you!

I'm not much of a photographer and may not stick with this, but it seemed a shame to just get rid of such a nice camera.

Number One I order you to take a number two.

Finally got the Nikon 200-500 5.6E back from the repair shop. It was out since April because they couldn't get parts to fix the VR.

This one is with the Z 100-400 4.5-5.6 S and an owl hiding behind an irritating amount of foliage:

The males go absolutely nuts for anything blue. I was at a campsite and someone had left a basket full of clothes pegs out, when you'd come out in the morning the pegs would be scattered and all the blue ones would be missing.

Not sure if related to their eye though heh

I am out of the office on holiday this weekend, so i managed to take photos of birds. It's hard to take photos of birds, good job every one who does. These birds kept trying to run away from me.

^^^^ Nice set. Especially like the least bittern, which are usually hiding much better than that.

These aren't fully rescued by Topaz (especially the first, which is pretty blurry in the original), but if you squint maybe...

OMG look at them! I love Ospreys.

Went for an evening stroll at a very large open space park and there were Northern Harriers and White-Tailed Kites everywhere.

The day before I ran into this guy swallowing his meal on the roadside. Was able to pull over and grab the action shot.

Nice! I love the colour. I wanted some sunset colours in mine but it was so bright and over exposed it kind of worked out.

Is your bird standing on one leg?

:hfive: Thank you! It's actually on both legs (had to go into the set and crank the shadows to see) so I got it pretty close to directly 90°.

Interestingly enough - I often do see a lot of Great Blue Herons only on one leg though! This one is from November of last year
