That said, I think at its heart, is the system as a whole is incapable of reforming.

the honest to god most likely reform as far as i can see is that in '24 the gop gets 60 senators and trump/desantis/whoever follows through on purging the civil service, courts, election infrastructure, and military, and the system reforms into something much worse lol

Honestly I think it is the media's strategy to combat Trump by simply wishing him away and trying to manufacture a self-fulfilling prophecy. it's a very traditional, outdated way of doing things, as the mainstream media does not have that kind of pull any more.

I say its the bleakest timeline because there will be no moment of catharsis, no comeuppance where you can rub the libs face into a crushing red wave of fascist take over. Its just going to be a mildly disappointing midterm that will be close enough for libs to blame the left for not voting hard enough but not so bad they have to question any assumptions. There will never be a breaking point where people notice things have gone horribly wrong, just a long slow slide into a fascist hellscape, same as its been for decades now

Biden won by a lot as predicted and definitely did not claw his way to victory based on 30,000 votes in AZ, GA, and WI. and Biden's defeat in FL and OH by hundreds of thousands of votes was accurate and pollsters definitely did not label those states as competitive
