They’re not quite shy of higher commitment stuff on dragoon, stardiver still has a decent lock on it but the way it’s tied to life means you get just enough flexibility to make it work

1. it gets used like tank invulns are, to simply ignore mechanics; if dragoon gets this and all the other melees don't, dragoon becomes the best melee by far

2. you have to use it on cooldown so you can't guarantee it to do a cheese strat, this accomplishes nothing because-

-2a. damage from mechanics is generally damage to either the tanks alone or to the entire group at once, with only a few very sparse exceptions (largely in old content too), so it accomplishes nothing because the healers are still spending the same amount of mp on group heals. not like a wow situation where some random fraction of a group might get hurt, group size is too small and damage input is too controlled for that.

-2b. fights exist where the timing on the invulnerability interferes with your ability to get damaged by something you need to get damaged by, in order to carry the debuff from it into the solution for a future mechanic, and the choice between 'drift your rotation or fail the fight' is not generally a choice that people enjoy having to make--especially since dragoon, as it is, already gets hit with this problem more often than any other melee on account of how much of its damage comes with a forced movement component, something that has gradually been peeled off of the other melees.

so it's not really as much about balance as it is that something like this just doesn't gel with how the game functions

Hello welcome to this perfectly coded game that adds a fixed animation lock of about half a second, but on top of the variable server response (~ping) so have fun if your ping is over 100ms, maybe.

Also the game where the devs didn't even notice their original implementation of NIN mudras was dogshit to anyone outside of Japan because they always only tested it while locally connected to the server or something insane like that.

No.

1. It's boring. The time spent up in the air is time not spent doing things which is generally pretty dull for most people.
2. The drg rotation is really tight and does not have room for 5 seconds of not doing the rotation in it.
3. They have systematically removed all other abilities they've put in the game that let you blank mechanics like that so they definitely aren't going to add one.

Or play Dancer, licking my lips while building up Technical Step before dropping a nuke on a wall to wall is also 3 seconds of anticipation and wind up.

The PvP DRG LB would be loving awful for PvE because either the goon would lose an outrageous amount of DPS uptime while floating in the air, or the attack would have to have an outrageously high potency to compensate. It just doesn't fit with the way PvE in this game works.

There is a solution, however:





Give DRG PvP LB to BLU.

Naw, nin lb is a cool button to push and immediately die as you stun lock yourself for 2-3 seconds while also being attached to someone almost assuredly desperately trying to run back to their front line because oops, latency meant you were wrong about the hp threshold. The rest of their kit is pretty great in frontline but their lb being a suicide button like 50% of the time is why I'm picking up dragoon who still has a really strong kit and an almost 0 risk powerful lb.

The thing about frontlines dragoon that's harsh and kinda keeps it within the domain of being somewhat reasonable, as someone who plays it daily, is the lack of crowd control. They're extremely reliant on others to disable targets so they can't just walk away. I guess you could say they snowball a lot with a synergistic team but often have surprisingly limited ability to make things happen without that

We must agree to disagree my friend because the melee tax, forced target loss + stealth and ninjutsu: I've decided not to take damage make Ninja pretty great at ignoring suicides. And personally I find DRG announcing their 3 second wind up and "I'll be here to be punished" marker to be really easy to deal with. Press Guard after 2 seconds, collect BH. Easier than squinting at the Samurai's buff bar!

the most absurd teams to deal with are the drk/drg combos. Draw in, gravity, drg lb, 5x dead.

Does anyone know if you close FFXIV while in the middle of a DC transfer if your place gets saved or if it can get you "unstuck?"

I logged on early this morning to try and get my weekly clears before starting work, saw only 1 PF up in Primal for P5S so decided to go to Aether. Little did I realize that because Dynamis came out, the DC transfer system would be clogged and I've been stuck on the DC transfer window since then (nearing 6 hours now). I haven't closed my game so it's just been running in the background all day, but I'll need to go back to Primal if/when this transfer goes through and would like to know if I can just close it and let the transfer go through while I'm not actively in the game.

DC travel is not going to happen today most likely. It uses the same something or other as the World Transfer Service, and world transfers get priority.

It's a mod that allows people to share their character's mod setups without actually having to do an install process. So of I have, say, a custom body and sliders, other people can see that.

The mod itself is called Mare Synchronos, but Mare Lamentorum's autotranslate or just 'mare' is a short (and ban-safe) way to refer to it.

Mare Synchronous is a mod that lets you see other people's personal Penumbra and Glamourer mods. Penumbra being a mod loader with a variety of uses, Glamourer is just pick what you're wearing and dye it without needing the item in game, also lets you fantasia for only yourself and anyone you're Mare Synchronised with.

As an example, if you have Mare Synchronous and synchronise with someone using the Vergil Samurai mod. Only their animations will be changed, everyone else will have the normal animations. Another one is you can get Nier Automata style animations for teleports.

Yes, it is also sometimes a porn thing.

Hell no. I mean the healer does what they can, but any tank who wallpulls those trouble spots is taking responsibility.

In specifically Bardam's, when I get it doing LDR on my just-barely-geared 67 DRK and know I'm not going have a great time doing wall pulls instead of just doing doubles? Yeah, I'll roll my eyes if we wipe. If we don't, then great, I'll do a full pull on the next.

Now, if I get it on any of my tanks that are 70+ and have a synched healer, then all bets are off, full steam ahead.

More job/role storylines in general should take the Conjurer or Lancer route of showing you just a total trash fire example and making the entire story 'don't be that guy'.

The Wake Doctor's Mask takes dye in roughly the same way the cloth on Late Allagan Casting/Healing does, and my BLU glam needed serious updating.

My favorite run of the new variant dungeon had a "you pull you tank" guy that I guess didn't get the memo on how it worked and got so mad the three dps wouldn't die they just abandoned. They almost certainly learned nothing from the experience but I can hope (and laugh).
