^^ adorable

A few months back I took a trip down to Mission Texas to visit my dad. I found out there are quite a bit of birdos and butterflies down there. I finally got around to processing a bazillion images.

The Eastern Curlew, a critically endangered bird that fly from China to Australia and back again, has arrived just in time for summer :)

It has been fun timing their mudflat feeding times with the tide times.

Been awhile but here's some of my favorites from the last few months. These still taken on the Nikon D3500 with the 70-300mm kit lens. I'm saving up to get the Sigma 150-600mm contemporary.

Those are great. Waxwings are my favorite looking bird, and I really want to take photos of em, but I haven't seen any in my area. I know a park an hour away or so has some, but the weather went shite.

So smooth. So neat. Great stuff!

With that Cardinal shot, do they moult or go through different seasonal plumage? Or is it just a youngin?

If they weren't so gosh darn good at reproducing and sticking in numbers - they'd be really popular but because they're so common, no one really pays much mind to them.

When they're in that one stage of plumage where there's a bunch of white in there as well has always stood out to me as super neat.
