I kind of half want to burn a pile of money to make an attack ad mailer but it’s all dumb poo poo Travis did and have it mailed out across the district.

Yes, Travis, please try to intimidate Sticky Fingers Paul Pantry when he's obviously got a Dead Man's Switch on you and the rest of the party's banging down the door to get on the heist. This is an endearing character interaction and totally not incredibly tedious to listen to as either a player, DM, or listener.

Could have been better but Justin should have dropped with the fact that they were getting paid sooner and a lot of that would have been headed off.

Except for the bit of Travis threatening a murder (which I get his reasoning for but he still does every single campaign), I thought this was a very fun episode and am really liking Steeplechase overall.

I gave the Travis thing a pass, and believe that Justin will be able to reign in the worst of Travis's impulses based on how it was deescalated in minutes vs., say, an entire episode of bar fighting.

Haven't listened to any of Steeplechase yet but I'll give it a shot if that's the case. His monopolizing every conversation is why I tapped out of Amnesty before the end.

If anything I have consistently enjoyed Justin's shutting Travis' bullshit down with a simple dose of Reality Ensuing. That simple dose of "look at what a clusterfuck you made in that last heist that anyone could have got on camera, I do not in fact think you've got it together enough to harm me even if you tried" is such a panacea after everything Travis did in Graduation and Ethersea that I am somehow looking forward to more episodes of this.

oh, i don't mind it too much. it was just the one odd sour note in an otherwise p excellent episode. it's been a very long time since the show was this good.

is steeplechase a full season or is this a limited run thing? i'd frankly be very supportive of justin getting another two or three dozen episodes if this is the quality he's bringing

Steeplechase is great, I'm really enjoying it. Griffin being unable to manifest any sort of world description due to being overworked was a good bit.

Like ads in the postcast itself? the only ads i'm used to hearing on MaxFun shows that are aren't ad-reads by the hosts are ads for other maxfun shows.
How the hell does an ad get spliced in without being vetted?

Most podcasts nowadays use dynamic ads. The files are tagged with spots where ads are supposed to be inserted, and they're spliced in when the file is downloaded. A bunch of McElroy podcasts use this to have updated announcements/etc.

Yeah it was really fun during the early days of the pandemic. You'd be trying for a bit of escapism by listening to some old podcasts only for IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES, ads to be running constantly

Pennywise is more of a metaphysical entity and I doubt Batman has anything in his arsenal to damage it. At best he could enlist Zatanna or John Constantine to deal with it.

EDIT: I wrote this post during the Money Zone. Didn't know they were gonna bring it back up.

Yeah, dynamic ads spliced into the runtime of the show, so I got Justin's read for Kiwi co and then a bonus ad about DEMOCRATS FORCING SCHOOLS TO PUSH AN AGENDA
