Bet everything and if you both miss, you lose. If you're both right, then you still only have a 50% chance of winning at that point. Though I think $0 would have made more sense than $7k. My affiliate isn't even airing it at 1am or anything. Even though polls won't be closed in California yet at 7, there'll be plenty of useless projections coming out of Rockefeller Center to tie up the channel for hours  Maybe they'll do the thing where they bump the "live" episodes by a day and play Friday's ep in the Saturday slot.

That was great, I'm glad they did that. Go Mattea! I admit that I'd still like to see a rematch in the final where the pressure is on them, but I don't mind a good underdog story either if someone else sneaks in.
