I have to let some people know Sausage Claus is real

Also, is there anything special about these other than packaging?

Yeah, I saw the Halloween ones in the wild last year. On clearance after Halloween because no one was buying them.
This is such a lazy way of doing themed sausages.

No, not really. My fellow Germans really loooove jarred sausages. Entire aisles full of these things.

We even have "american" hotdogs sold in these same jars.
Floating in brine, waiting to be finally freed from their bath of misery.

Though it did give us things like this:

I think I've posted those awful jarred "hot dogs" before, you can get them in cans as well for some reason here in the UK. I don't know if those sausages are like the ones they call hot dogs but they're really unpleasantly squishy; you get them sometimes if you buy a hot dog from a takeaway.

That is surprising to me, everyone knows how Germans like sausage so I'm sure you can find delish freshly made sausages everywhere.
I wouldn't have thought that cheap brine jarred stuff would have much demand.

I remember my mom making a sauce for cocktail weiners that had grape jelly and mustard mixed together and it was somehow good? At least to my child palate. Anyway maybe this is similar.

It's pretty normal to put a little grape jelly to add a bit of sweet, fruity flavour to otherwise savoury dishes. Lots of pizza places put it in their sauce.

I have always thought hot dogs came in tins, jars if you're facy, vacuum packed if you're weird.

The idea of a hot dog in any other form factor is bizzare.

Oh man, we had Faygo Diet Chocolate Soda available to buy when I was a kid, and I would constantly choose it and then be all :barf: after a single swallow. I just really wanted that chocolate flavor in a soda for some reason, and I somehow expected that the nasty diet flavor wouldn't be so bad, every single time.
Now I have to wonder, was there ever a commonly available soda brand that had a non-diet chocolate flavor? It seems weird that diet chocolate was a common thing but I don't think I've seen a regular version.
