There is already a free trade agreement across all ASEAN countries There is also an ASEAN + China free trade agreement There are also ASEAN + Japan/Korea and other such similar combinations of ASEAN+1 The RCEP is supposed to effectively (if not literally) supersede all of those and simplify all of the rules into a single agreement

Labor organizing is not worthless in the context of class power. It pretty specifically empowers the working class. The distinction is, without political direction, this work is not necessarily revolutionary. Mutual aid in the west is a fake re-branding of charity though; that's basically correct. The idea is mutual exchange of goods and services based on need; thereby coming to rely more on each other than the state. It's much more workable in places and time periods in which capital has not successfully destroyed all pre-existing communities.

A fundamental reason that the proletariat are a revolutionary class is that they, as a class, hold ultimate power in society through their fundamental role in production. The underlying economic reality of capitalism means that an organized proletariat has power over the bourgeoisie. This is basic Marxism. For many people, the workplace is the only meaningful communal space left, it is also through production the place where they exercise their power in society.
