I usually just walk back to gulbag if it's just me and i'm in besiktas or taksim and the weather's nice

I had a terrible time with the taxis I rode in Istanbul in September. the first had a wet seat that I sat on and then it rear ended someone. the second broke down on the highway when I was on my way to the airport and short on time.

On a more serious note, the communist parties worked with what they had available. Yugoslav communists started with a relatively stronger core of urban proleterians in major Yugoslav cities, and kept it strong while rapidly intensifying the party presence among the peasantry during the guerilla war, helped by the fact that capitalism was already eating away at peasantry and forcing many into being partially proleterian. (e: also the fact that said peasantry was being genocided by nazis and was very friendly towards ideas like "let's shoot nazis and not die") However, there is a lot of similarities between Yugoslav communist strategies in the guerilla stage of the war and the transition to more conventional war as cities were captured with the Chinese/Vietnamese strategies in their respective struggles because at those points they were facing very similar problems with very similar tools, and adapted to similar circumstances in similar ways. my dad has issued a correction as of 19:23 on Nov 13, 2022 |

I only got scammed by a taxi once in china but I got refused trips a lot. rarely cause I was foreign mostly cause I wasn't going somewhere where there was going to be people to pick up i.e. not profitable enough

I wish the language part of my brain didn't stop gathering new information the instant I became fluent in English, I would have liked to learn mandarin and at least visit China some time  I can't even learn hiragana or Cyrillic, there's not a fuckin chance I could pick up kanji I doubt I'd be able to move there when the West collapses anyways, they probably wouldn't want me even if I spoke fluent mandarin lol

The only book on the Yugoslav Communist liberation war I know of was written by a MI6 guy (Basil Davidson) so it's basically "they're communist but they actually fight the Nazis so let's arm them"
