He usually stays in an applied mathematics kind of area where it's possible to build reasonably compelling visualizations, and he likes doing detailed videos about interesting results and topics where there's a lot of rewarding detail to go into. But there are huge areas of mathematics which are much more abstract and difficult to bring to life in that way. Number theory, for example. I just take it as that we are lucky some concepts can be taught like this, I think I wouldn't have given up on calculus in high school if they'd played some of his videos first
